i can do bad all by myself

madea's family reunion
for colored girls...

have u actually seen ALL those movies?

the gorls be saying off the wall stuff about Tyler but have never really dug IN to his mess.

i honestly think you'd be impressed if you gave the movies a chance. they all tackle different things.

DOAMBW digs into the whole "angry black woman" mess and gives some insight into their plight that leads to their "anger"
Family That Preys touches on the separation of Black families that can occur when money is involved..some of the family stays in the hood and others move out and progress
I Can Do Bad All By Myself touches on the familial dynamics of Black women and generational curses .
Good Deeds shows Black people in executive, powerful positions who want to do well by others.

Like, it's not just a bunch of eating fried chicken and being "ghetto"
Tyler HAS shown range in his work. And a lot of his work has MEANING and purpose to it. Messages that are powerful.

Like, really get INTO his mess before you blow him off.
his real mess when he digs in. Not the lil sitcoms he throws out.
gorl

I've seen all his mess

I'm sorry but there is a "cheapness" to a lot of his work no shade

He's too established for some of the mess I've seen in lot of his movies/shows

And the editing...

Wigs DISHEVELED and LOPSIDED in different scenes

And his scripts aren't all that

I see why a lot of his mess gets shunned

QuoteThe opening of Tyler Perry Studios feels like a bright beginning to a new era in Black cinema and television. Of course, networks like BET, TV One, OWN and Bounce have long created platforms for Black productions on TV. For decades, there have been occasional surges in widespread interest around Black-centered productions. It happened in the '90s with romantic comedies like "Poetic Justice" and "Boomerang," coming-of-age films like "Boyz n the Hood" and "The Wood" and TV sitcoms like "Martin" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Now, change is happening on another level. Black creators are getting a bit more control over their projects and pushing Hollywood players toward a more equitable industry. More filmmakers and producers are making concerted efforts to bring new talent into the fold and speak out about the need for inclusion at every level. Directors like Lee, John Singleton and others did much of this foundational work early in their careers. Progression in the form of inclusion riders, pay equity and creating our own opportunities at the scale of Tyler Perry Studios are the fruits of their labor.

Yh which furthers my point in which Tyler Perry never made it cool
to do black movies, when 80% of his content compared to the rest of the material coming out in the 90s till now, doesn't stack up.

klappa.

Project started: 2014 Wrapped up: 2024

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated that only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants exist worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

I've seen MOST of Toilet Perry's movies and NONE of them are great.  He has some that are more tolerable than others but gtfoh. He has a whole movie studio and is a billionaire but his movies STILL have a made for tv movie feel to them.  I've never watched a Tyler Perry film and thought HOLLYWOOD or budget.  They give an off brand mess........in multiple ways.  Not plenty of great work. I'm SCREAMING :kii:

Bank account!
Yh what of it?
McDonald's makes bank every year, but no one calls their mess Gourmet cooking or goes for a fine dining experience.
And this is true of Tyler Perry
Cheap but profitable and it shows in his scripts, actors and production.

and these occasional surges were just that occasional surges, your talking as though Tyler Perry came and filed this void that was missing black creativity.  :dead:

Like it's not even about the repetitive content because a lot of that is relavent and curent, it's the quality of the work  :plzstop:
Coz Im not gonna sit here and act like white Hollywood comes up with something groundbreaking and fresh every single time, but Tyler can do a lot for himself because these topics are actually relevant to his audience and black communities across the world, it's his execution that his S H I T.

Like did you watch the clip in the OP, it's supposed to be a dramatic scene but that was pure comedy  :dead:
It's so sloppy done
