That was nice but i never know how to feel when white women make their award about another Black Artist. I get the gesture, but sometimes it makes me cringe a bit.
For me, I'd be like "I'm good
enjoy ur award babe". If you didn't win, u just didn't win. I don't like moral victories but Megan did have a hell of a year and what Billie said was very kind
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I kinda get it.... because sadly if she didn't, she would've been dragged all over social media by this sensitive ass generation. It's oddly kinda sad honestly that she couldn't just accept her award and have her moment because of the fear of black lash. It's like we expect to win everything and if we don't... it's outage. Which is why everything just feels so forced and fake-catered to us to keep peace.
!!! all of these BLM songs winning just to appease the Blacks
And the girls eating it up not seeing how fake it is
well I think there will always be a certain disingenuous vibe when it comes to these events trying to include blacks more because these are white spaces and platforms we are trying to PUSH ourselves into more . They genuinely don't care about us like that so we can't expect their efforts of "appeasing" us to feel like it comes from the heart .
Kinda like those major corporations suddenly becoming super focused on black mess once they saw the country being burned down behind that George Floyd mess. "Omf! Let's do a black coalition guys! Let's have conversations!"
Seems fake as hell and forced but that could be because it is actually kinda forced lol I'll continue to look to and support Black platforms when I'm in the mood for GENUINE Black support from from the heart . And not a door being nudged open a bit more just cuz we are kicking and banging and begging for entry into a room and a seat at this oh so "prestigious" table that was not built or decorated with us in mind.
