yall were touching on FETISHization in here tbh.

if we wanna give it a straightforward definition
as it speaks more specifically to things such as skin color etc.

u can def objectify someone without fetishizing them. but yall are kinda putting them together as one IMO
well, according to goog' objectification is defined as:
Quotethe action of degrading someone to the status of a mere object.

fetishization is doing the same thing, just sexually.
not quite.

fetish speaks more to specific groups of people.

and we're speaking on specific groups. when we have a conversation about gay white men looking for black king kong dick, what's the first word we use?

objectification falls under it, but the bullseye...in this case at least (in terms of being more specific with what u guys were going for in here with actually referencing black dildos and such), is fetishization.

does that make sense?

again, i'm just going by google's definition of objectification.

whether there's levels to it as you say is up to opinion i guess.

Bentley. HARRIS!

sooooooo ... a man you met said some colorist things he prolly grew up hearing .... and that reinforces the entire "black women are the most underprotected, disrespected, degraded creature on planet" movement?

just asking for context

he def grew up hearing it

he admitted to me that his mother told him not to bring home anyone darker than him with "nappy" hair.

and it def goes towards #protectblackwomen not just because he repeated/said it

but because i took time to help him understand why he SHOULDNT say it. and how it can affect the women he's talking about.
that's where the "protection" comes in.

it's all about thinking further than ourselves in that moment. watching the way we speak about one another.

like.... you dont HAVE to say shit like that.  :plzstop: it costs u nothing to keep it to urself.

i know he felt that i may not have been offended but i wasnt gonna sit there and hehe and haha with him about it, or even be silent.  im gonna call u on ur shit

i did it very nicely and gently. but i def checked him. and was ready for him to feel a type a way about it. and maybe be a lil mad at me . btut i couldn't care about that.

thankfully, he actually understood. and is now checking himself.

Sor' but black men don't benefit from racial stereotypes either, gay straight dark or light
the issue isn't that stereotypes are only insulting and offensive, is that fact that they are also limiting.
and this isn't giving a a bit of "whataboutism!" either

In terms of intraracial desirability they definitely do.

this is an honest question.

when did yall become hetero black male allies?

lsfdddsdsfdsds

i def remember the gorls saying black hetero men are trash and that kinda being the end of the discussion
no ifs, ands or buts , empathy or understanding about it
(although i didn't agree but eventually gave up)

i actually kinda go up and up for black hetero males and understand their plight as well

but i understand who needs the most protection right now. this thread was for them.

and i'll still stand up for the hetero black men when time comes.

Benefit isn't the right word but within the black community dark skinned men aren't viewed as undesirable in the same way that dark skinned black women are. Look at all the dark skinned men who get light skinned women. You hardly ever see a light skinned man with a dark woman  :plzstop:
