Sor' but black men don't benefit from racial stereotypes either, gay straight dark or light
the issue isn't that stereotypes are only insulting and offensive, is that fact that they are also limiting.
and this isn't giving a a bit of "whataboutism!" either

In terms of intraracial desirability they definitely do.
benefit in what way?
!!!
Like how the fuck is being reduced to your physical traits a benefit? :dead:
ummm look around.

ever heard of the media? music industry? hollywood? modeling?

where your physical traits can work FOR or AGAINST you depending on what's considered to be desirable?

it's kinda a thing.

and it doesn't stop there. it goes for romance too.
I know how things work babe. Like I said before, objectively recognizing physical attributes =/= objectification.
you don't think j-lo was objectified and benefited from it?

spicy! latina!! oooo papi!!!!

it was absolutely objectification. it was absolutely playing off of stereotypes
it was absolutely reducing her to a spanish sex kitten

and that BENEFITED her. she's RICH.

like....

do i need to pull more got damn examples?

Like I said, I know how things work.
:omgwatshappening:
People make money from being objectified all the time.

My thing was that I don't think Consuela wants to be called 'caliente' by her white boss when she's just tryna do some clean'

Being objectified might have benefited J-Lo but it's not just J-Lo that's affected by said objectification.
yes obviously there are downsides to certain promotion

but if you're in the market for a man and its considered hot and valuable to be a "spicy latina"
you don't have to identify as that to benefit from the promotion.
you don't even have to KNOW you're benefiting from it, to benefit from it.

just as many white people are completely oblivious to how they benefit from certain things.

it's all about VALUE that is placed on certain traits. and how people can knowingly or unknowingly cash in it on that value to get things that can drastically change their lives. relationships, career opportunities. let's step out of disneyworld for one second and dig into the real.

but what happens when your group is actually seen as LESS valuable? that affects u in the reverse way.

that's where PRIVILEGE comes from, in this case. this is how it is possible to BENEFIT from promotion of your group - whether it be sexualized or not. the fact and point is that, ITS POSSIBLE TO BENEFIT FROM IT!

is this starting to make sense?

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated that only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants exist worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.
