Looking up the definitions, an icon is symbolic of something and a legend is a famous/notorious person typically of a particular field. 

I would consider Paula Abdul neither an icon or a legend. She was a pop star and I don't give it much more weight than that.  Jimi Hendrix is an icon of the electric guitar and a legendary performer. Aretha Franklin and Whitney is an icon of soul and are legendary performers.

Where do Kelly fit in any of this?
