- Stories and pics of his new 800K+ home were published online by multiple news outlet ....obviously pointing out how lavishly he's living as a result of his activism (see one article w/pics of the house here: https://nypost.com/2021/07/31/activist-shaun-king-lives-lavishly-in-lakefront-nj-home/)
- The articles also point out all the questions surrounding where the money from his fundraisers has gone. Including a letter from Tamir Rice's mother - who flat out dragged him for raising funds regarding her son's killing without her knowledge/consent or involvement.
- Shaun is now claiming strangers are stopping by the property as a result of the stories, he's concerned for his family's safety and wants YOU to help him get out of his house. He's started yet another fundraiser to get the ball rolling.
Fundraiser for Shaun King requests assistance to move out of $842,000 New Jersey house
(https://uploadir.com/u/s9x5674m)
The controversial activist says his family must move out of the New Jersey home after images of the property were published by news outlets
A fundraiser for Shaun King is seeking donations to help move his family out of their New Jersey home after photographs of the house were published online by news outlets.
The controversial activist stated in a social media post that he is being forced to move from the $842,000 property, per a report from Atlanta Black Star. King's Instagram page has since gone private and his Twitter profile was taken down.
An image of King's home was first published by The New York Post, who in late July reported that the 3,000-square-foot abode is located in North Brunswick, New Jersey. The house includes five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a gourmet kitchen with a backyard situated on a lakefront. It was purchased in November in the name of Rai-Tonicia King, Shau King's wife, according to the outlet.
King, his wife and their five children previously lived in an apartment in Brooklyn, New York, before moving to the New Brunswick home.
King posted to his social media that for safety reasons, he decided to move out of the New Jersey house, Atlanta Black Star reported.
"Today, I've had to make a heartbreaking decision," King stated. "After a combination of Fox News, the NY Post, and other outlets posted pictures of my home across the Internet, we've now seen our address posted all over the internet. Strangers have already started coming by the house. My kids can't even go outside and play during the final month of summer break. So, we're moving."

I get that, but they may not have anticipated moving again so soon. Who knows how much of their income they invested only to have to turn around and move again, especially if the new house hasn't been sold.
Idk his situation so I'm trying not to judge, but I definitely feel like people are doing the most over this basic ass house.
That house is hideous

im honestly not crying tears for him

Something about this man is def off.
Tamir Rice's mom rips Shaun King for profiting off her son's death
(https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/06/tamir-rice-mother.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=1236&h=820&crop=1)
Tamir Rice's mom slammed Shaun King in a scathing social media post, calling him a self-centered person who can't be trusted – and "a white man acting black."
Samaria Rice was apparently set off by King publishing details of a conversation they had, after she previously blasted King and others, accusing them of benefitting from the death of her 12-year-old son, who was shot by Cleveland police while playing with a toy gun.
"Why do you think its so important to tell folks we had a conversation," Rice wrote in an Instagram post addressed to King.
"Well we talked and everything that was said was very toxic and uncomfortable for me to hear that you raised additional money and then say you did not want to bother me. Personally I don't understand how you sleep at night," she wrote.
"I never gave you permission to raise nothing," Rice went on. "Along with the united states, you robbed me for the death of my son."
King had posted an episode of his podcast under the title "I spoke to Samaria Rice this past week," but the episode appears to have been removed from his website.
"It was a much-needed conversation," he wrote on the page for the episode. "I learned a lot. Listened a lot. Shared my heart. And pledged we would continue to fight to get justice and accountability for Tamir."
Samaria Rice started the Tamir Rice Foundation in 2017, three years after the death of her son. Rice and King apparently fell out over King's fundraising efforts in the name of Tamir.
In a post on his website Tuesday, King outlined how he had raised a total of about $125,000 through several fundraisers and didn't receive a penny for his efforts. He also had nothing to do with disbursement of the money, he stated.

i kinda thought people were being too hard on him until that mess went down with tamir rice's mother.
it's not even about what race he is and all that stuff for me
although i know thats a huge debate ...blacks r diverse ppl so i wouldn't waste much time on that unless he just flat out looked like brad pitt .
his
integrity has been called into question. thats my concern
He shouldn't be profiting off of his so-called activism. Does he have a real job? BLM does the same shit. They got millions of dollars in donations last year.... for what & where tf did the coins go to? Not any worthy causes I'm sure.
Well tbf Tamir rices mother said she spoke to Shaun a few times but then then turns around and she's she's never spoken to him a day in her life but she also said he sent her a $60k check, previously he said it was $100k a few years ago but there was some legal mess that some of the money was tied into.
She's also asked BLM groups to stop using her sons name for protesting/marches and wants to DOJ to re-open her sons case but to avail and seems be taken that out on people
He does a lot but he's also gotten a lot of campaigning and gotten. A a lot prominent people of colour voted into office
So I'm conflicted

i was kinda confused reading some of the tea...it was like she was saying she spoke to him but then lke u said it seems like she was saying she never spoke to him too
but this could be about her holding people accountable and calling them on their shit . not letting ANYTHING sneaky slide....as opposed to her taking frustration out on people.
shaun had to do SOMETHING left for her to pen that fiery letter she wrote to him. she wanted blood.

i had some leverage overall considering i purchased at the height of the pandemic
their setup was a plus for me actually
especially considering they did a LOT to the place overall
they didn't just convert from 2 bedroom to 1. they worked on EVERYTHING. the design, the ceilings, the walls....real hardwood floors.
like, the DETAILS of my home are insane.
i have the best looking loft in my building. sfdfsdsfdsd
a lot of the other units look like true lofts. like very industrial looking
but the previous owners gave this place a nice mix of home-y and industrial teas.
everyone im come across in my building who knows about this unit are usually green with envy.
:woohoo:
but may made a really good point in saying the news outlets may have dramatized tf out of the price tag on his home
800k up north isn't gonna get u far
There are literally nice sized homes in southside queens (aka the HOOD ) with an estimated 900k value . One just sold around the corner from my grandmothers for 1 million . I just was checking the area the other week out of curiosity.
And gentrification is only beginning to touch that area . So I can imagine what it's gonna look like in 5 years
And that's a more hood area of NYC.
Sometimes numbers SOUND like a lot but there's so much to consider
n
He needs to sell it and downgrade to a condo or something.
if he's that concerned with privacy.

LAVISH!
People KILL me going on about an 800k house like it's something so luxurious.
That's a regular ass house here in SoCal. For example:
https://www.redfin.com/CA/Long-Beach/5280-E-25th-St-90815/home/7579363
This lil 3 bedroom, 1600 square foot home is priced OVER 800k.
well location is everything
California real estate is completely overpriced, as you know
althought I heard they pay crazy property taxes in NJ, home prices are probably still lower on average

those nj taxes are no joke. And are not to be underestimated
Dangerously close to being as high as the mortgage payment itself.
Fnnfffnfnfnffnfn
Staying my ass right here in the A.
already got a nice chunk of equity in one year between the value increase and me paying a lot extra on my principal . I've been VERY aggressive with it
Goal is to have this place completely paid off ASAP.
Me and the bank gonna be playing tug-o-war on equity of this bitch by the end of next year.

New Brunswick is a little further south in New Jersey so you can get a little more bang for you buck. The prices closer to NYC are super ridiculous tho and so are the prices to match.
