So much potential. For her to be only 17 here, she had a lot of confidence and stage presence.

!!!
And she sounded GOOD
She performs and sings how I wish Ashanti would
Love Ashanti but she will never be nobody's performer, sadly. She just had a great machine behind and team as well.

I really wonder what would have happened if she didn't get dropped?
She would've been the one that popped off if Rih wasn't smashing the label execs

Beautiful girl, good voice but she's not a star. Jay bey or whoever made the right call. Ri ri just needed the right song and now is forever a legend!!!!
Pon De Replay went #2 on Billboard, only beat by historic ass We Belong Together, and that was it for Teairra. They went with the one who could triple back they money.
Why not keep both though? Rih could've been their pop artist, TeALLAH could've been their urban star.

Not them just flat out dropping sis

I feel like Teairra was hard to work with or sumn maybe because it made no sense
No Dvy didn't do what it was supposed to do on the charts
No daddy wasn't even promoted like that and that song goes hard! I also think the problem was no parents ain't gonna buy a teenage girl album with explicit language bout "meet at a phone booth my momma acting kinda thing" for their daughters anyways. Wasn't she like 16/17 when she drop this album? Her album was dope af but real grown at the same time
Praise ha
Y'all giving her album too much lmao. It was an decent debut, but dope asf??? :-/. I mean i liked "No Daddy" but that's not a hit record. If she didn't make a hit outta "make a girl feel good" this wasn't doing nothing either.
n
Has she made another album since 2005?

That should've been her second single and not that ghetto ass "No Daddy"
La la is the true standout on her album.
I just watched her Breakfast Club interview. She's been through so much personally and professionally and she has so much talent and potential. I really don't fuck with how Charlamagne was playing her in that interview either. I really hate how black women are always the brunt of the industry's joke. :uhh:

i'm sorry, but Teairra just never really had IT for me...at all. She just screams low budget to me. Rihanna had a HUGE hit and none of Teairra's singles really took off. And from what we know, she was the one they were focusing on more - more money spent, less return. On top of that, I hrd she had a really bad attitude and Im pretty sure her mouth got her into some trouble that made her a bit more difficult to work with. Maybe there were problems with her work ethic as well. Who knows what was going on behind the scenes.
Before a yr even went by, Rihanna alrdy released SOS which was smashing the charts and went to #1. At that point, it was prob just wise to put all your resources into the one artist and make even more money. Plus, at that point, Pop music was starting to be the new wave. Shit, even Christina Milian was offered SOS and rejected it and look what happened to her project? Sounds like just a smart business decision.
Yeah teairra has a good voice..actually has stage presence but no IT factor. She's not a star.

Okay we can say the same about Summer Walker, Queen Naija and a lot of these girls now. I think it was about timing and no one saw Rihanna as this big star but she had a machine behind her that let her develop and pushed her.
Oh okay

This stage presence ksdkkdsksdsd she DID that
Commanding and owning the stage. chhhhh this is why that lackluster, unbothered thing some of these girls be tryna do over a dreary tea just doesn't always do it for me. Look at this in comparison omf
