King Nas is tf perched
Hmmmm.
I'm happy Snoh got some nominations. She deserved it.
and H.E.R. is the most nominated female artist (along with Doja) btw

I completely forgot she doesn't have a Grammy yet
:guys:
I could see her taken one home this year
meh not justin bieber perched in POP and RNB .. ion like that
When the nominations suck & and you can't think of any artist that got snubbed, that's when you know it was a terrible year for music
I'll be rooting for Jazmine, Snoh, SZA, Saweetie, Doja, and Lil Nas X. Everyone else can go straight to hell tbh
I knew HER would be perched with that mid ass album.
I'm rooting for Jazmine, SZA and Lucky Daye
Kinda disappointed in the R&B category. I mean I expect H.E.R to sweep with Damage but Tinashe and Sevyn deserved a nom for Best Progressive R&B
I'm praying Jazmine finally gets her well deserved Grammy, but you already know they're gonna give it to HER or Bruno Mars smh. Can't stand either of those two.
And why tf is Justin bieber's cracker self in the R&B categories? :uhh: we really can't get shit for ourselves

H.E.R is her biggest competition.
Btw I'm convinced HER & Lady Gaga are paying for nominations at this point cuz ain't no way their mess is even worthy of being considered "Album of the year" :-/
Was this the album Justin was crying about? It was this one or the last he was in the press saying his album was rnb. So I guess the Grammys honored his wishes.

Yeah, H.E.R. is a Grammy darling at this point.
But Jazmine's album was critically acclaimed so I think she could pick at least one up.
Even though H.E.R.'s album was trash, "Damage" definitely deserve the noms it got.
Her best song in a while.
:gorlonfire:
I need Snoh to win in that category though.

I think Bruno is actually. Both Bruno and Anderson are big grammy darlings, even more than HER. Which sucks. With the Grammys, normally the songs that are nominated for Record of The Year and Song of the Year, those songs would normally win in the specific categories. So I expect Leave The Door Open to win. For Best R&B Album, thats prob her best shot. But once again, Jon Batiste got like 8 nominations, in the big categories too. So they love that album. He's prob gonna win Best R&B Album and Jazzy gon get shut out once again. I hope Im wrong tho.
Now all of them can't be Grammy darlings.
I always thought it was ridiculous that Meghan won the Best New Artist grammy over Doja last yr. And look at this - Doja has like 7 nominations this yr (or more). Grammys are pure shit.
Giveon is the silent threat imo.
Oh shoot...Queen Tori Kelly got another grammy on her off year for a Christmas album in the Pop category. Good for her!
Eric bellinger album got a nod so in a way brandy did too!
Congrats to HER! I didn't know her father was in the Grammu committee :dead: get it
Jaz is probably going to lose to H.E.R. H.E.R.'s industry machine is crazy.

Its what they always do. Mary and Mariah get nominated in the big categories, they get snubbed, but then they'll toss them wins in their respective R&B categories. I reckon the same will happen. The same thing happened with HER too when she won her Grammy award. And it happened with Cardi B that same yr. Album of the year? No. But take the best R&B or Rap album. They might just give it to HER though, which would be abysmal.

ggdfghhg but even her straight up white Pop music hasn't won so it's not about that. She doesn't need them anyway. Her ballad Wrecking Ball was just covered by Brandy in 2021. Her music has made a mark without them

Exactly. We all want her to win more Grammys because we've been conditioned into thinking that's the ultimate honor for a musician. Or they could just feel like her time has passed and that's fine, but they have outright snubbed her too many times not to think something is up. No way in hell Ashitty should've beat her for full moon that's one example.

Yeah, HER's music aint nowhere close to Alicia's big hits and albums, if we're comparing HERs first 2 or 3 to Alicia's.
Sssdfffff these twitter threads. I don't want to down a black woman getting recognized- so congrats to her- but I wish the industry could find someone more interesting to rally around. She's definitely talented but I don't think her output warrants the acclaim. Her "debut" was snoozy AF. Damage was decent at least though. Rake in those coins then B.O.R.E

Heaux Tales was the first album I really LOVED by Jazmine. The others didnt do anything at all for me. I didnt like it the 1st couple listens but kept on listening due to the hype and I ended up really LOVING it. And then I went back and listened to Reality Show cause y'all spoke so highly of it and I like that much more now. But I still prefer Heaux Tales and apparently, so do a lot of other ppl cause that project is her most successful commercially. Either way, its much better than HER's album by far is my point at least.

Heaux Takes is amazing

Jaz is probably going to lose to H.E.R. H.E.R.'s industry machine is crazy.
Yea and Jeff do not fuck around! Idk why he and Bran didn't work out
!!! I love Jeff. I think he was tryna get her into a deal that she wasn't really all the way comfortable with at the time (2015-16) nothing shady of course, but Queen wasn't really in album mode yet anyhow. She and her cousin Ryan are with Doja and the Weekend's guy now and he really seems like he's A1 as well

That's why she was at that party with Doja last year
Hmmmm seems interesting, I could see that, but I'm sure it was more to it as well. We will see how Salx0 does, he does seem cool. Hopefully they get her a fun bomb ass song and collab with DOJA and stop playing around with POPandy

At least Eric got nominated... does that sort of count for Brandy?
No it doesn't. The Grammys don't acknowledge Brandy and it's been that way for a while. But many artists are never acknowledged so I don't let it get to me as much as it used to. I used to think she was blacklisted. Who knows?
This.
I still think she is. Someone in the Academy doesn't care for her. But that's just my opinion.
At least she has one. A lot of her peers don't have any.
i wasnt gonna mention it but im glad someone did.
All of brans albums have been good enough for a grammy nom. AFRO all the way to b7.. b7 for SURE i just knew she was getting one. something for sure isnt right.. when HER is getting all these noms but none of brandys get it??? i am sorry but FUCK
MAYBE IF SHE SHOWED HER FACE and conversed with the people after 20 years of being absent then Bran can make some noise. I'm sorry but you need to politic a little bit. You don't have to kiss ass but girl walk the red carpets and network then go home. I do think she has been snubbed too many times though.
I actually remember Jeff cutting ties when the legal battle was going on with Breyon
he was trying to move her to Epic again I believe and Bran was saying that he was blocking her from releasing music anywhere else

Either way, its much better than HER's album by far is my point at least.
it has some great songs for sure

im so glad that Breyon mess is over with. I wasn't sure when we'd ever get to hear new music again
:plzstop:
And now Brandy is so visible again. Feels good to see and doesn't seem forced
Many Artists are still clamoring to get what Brandy already has. These days it's even more difficult to get a Grammy because the criteria isn't clear and quality records are being ignored. I don't trip about Grammy's when it comes to my favorite Artists, Jazmine included.
Mariah only has 4 or 5 :dead: that should tell u this whole thing is bullshit
If B8 is more diverse she will get another nomination. Brandy needs to add more variety to her projects.
I honestly disagree with that. She just needs to submit to the right categories and people simply need to vote IMO, b7 had so many different sounds to me. It's not as if there's any specific criteria to the Grammy's these days anyhow. They're always so random and all over the place each year. One year it's the popular girl, then it's obscure, etc.
Also, "Love Again" is definitely on b7 and people keep forgetting that. She'll get nominations going forward, IMO - no matter what - considering her management and some of the folks she's working with now. It's all industry politic BS at this point and ain't all the way about the music at all. These labels make sure their top priority gets on the ballot
