There's a big disconnect on the writing of the show for me. I feel like most of the dialogue and individual scenes are written decently, but the actual plotting and overarching narrative are all over the place.
I wish the showrunners spent more time figuring out where they wanted each plotline to go
The show isn't good. I kinda hope this was the end of it so Queen can move onto bigger and much better things. She's too good for this mess.
Brandy deserves a strong television series that may involve her singing but musical tv series have yet to nail it for me. They just end up being corny.
Yeah it may have been more performance based before Eve got pregnant. I don't think the soap opera feel sat well with her and a lot of the audience but I'm just speculating. All in all, i enjoyed the show for what it was until maybe these last 3-4 episodes.
It definitely went off the rails for me in a few different areas but it's no big deal. I love what Brandy's been doing and how she's been moving it'll certainly be interesting to see what else she chooses to do and the sounds she's probably already been exploring musically.

She sounded pretty clear to me lol she straight up said "this isn't what i signed up for so i hope if there is a season 2, there are more performances" and such.
I stopped watching after episode 2. A season 2 would be a blessing for Brandy, but new Brandy music would be a blessing for me, so hate to say it, but I wouldnt mind if this show got Zoe Ever After'd.

see i wouldnt mind new music but if she is gonna do music she needs to DO IT. more than 2 singles for the era and most DEF more than TWO VIDEOS.. we have had only TWO videos every era since afrodisiac. also she needs to do an ACTUAL TOUR. she hasnt done an actual tour since the 1998 NSN tour and im not talkin spot dates here and there im talkin an actual TOUR. she has TONS of songs we have never heard live. its completely UNACCEPTABLE at this point.

I feel like maybe they had budget cuts after the lackluster ratings, that led them to produce it in a cheaper way, like one main set, and less performances/music.
