The LL Cool J hosted-telecast was seen by 25 million viewers and generated a 7.7 adults 18?49 rating ? that

I think Nicki got the hint that she will never win. :dead: So she stayed home. I would've done the same. They announced her during the commercials tho.
It made me realize the amazingness people of color add to this mess. Every really great performance was by a minority. Kendrick, Hamilton, miguel, that spot of black that's in Tori Kelly even showed da fck out
Not surprised at all. The performances were boring and bad.
and i hope they realize this isn't LL's fault
its the grammys period
The BB King tribute, Alabama Shakes and Kendrick Lamar >>>>
Those were quality performances. Everything else was a mess.
Good
It was a horrendous show. I normally do pretty good at bearing through these awards shows to the end (including The Grammys) but damn. It was horrendous this year. I couldn't make it to the end.
They need to change the host and have more entertaining performers. Even Tori bored me.
LL needs to go as well

They should've got a funny host. For instance when Jamie hosted BET the year MJ died he held that show together and made it more upbeat. That's a good host.

He's good, but a part of why people tune in to award shows sometimes is because of the host. LL isn't drawing in additional viewers so to speak.

I wouldn't want neither of them hosting. But millions of people would. Let the BeyHive find out Bey and Jay will be performing, doing skits in between and mini performances throughout the night. People would be tuned in to see Caitlyn's wardrobe changes, Kylie vs Kim shenanigans and mess. I could care less but trust me, the thread is about a dip in ratings. They gotta do something to draw in more viewers and spice shit up. Put people on the screen that people want to see.

I was just about to say this. Grouping all these artists together was dumb, including Tori and James Bay. It weakens the performance cause each artist holds back and compromises their true showmanship for the sake of the duet.

the show just needs more black people. the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice. the show was off to a great start with the rap categories and everything, and as soon as they threw dem country artists on the stage...whew lawd!

Who was that singing with Carrie again?
They had Adele, Justin, and Taylor. They thought that was all they needed for ratings. They couldn't put real R&B talent on the stage or it would show up their watered down favorites.

I loved them. But maybe it cause I've watched so many live Tori performances and James performances, I've seen both do much better and I'd appreciate them more separately. VOCALLY, they were superb. Maybe by that time, I was just over the slow tempo songs. But they were good.

Right but a lot of black artists were invited and had seats reserved. They just didn't show up.
If the BET Awards are the EBT Awards, then what are the Grammys? The Grandmas? All I know is we do it better. Congrats to Kendrick for having the performance of the night. I also liked Stevie Wonder and Pentatronix. Was nice to see what Hamilton is about since I keep hearing about it.
Basically, they lied about who would be there and even showed Beyonce's dressing room like she was performing and they still failed. It's kind of what they get.
the performances were cheap

and the 28th overseas
IM betting the BET awards should be on the 26th
So in theory should do it
25 million people still watched the show and watching online (CBS' live stream) was up 192 percent. The show did just fine lol
The past years were 28 million. That's only 3 million more and those simply watched online this year.
