A deeper storyline would've been great, but anything else too "dramatic" and theatrical wouldve taken away from that modern vibe. Visually it was very pretty and the colors were crisp. From a technical stand point it was great work visually. I did enjoy that high resolution of Bran shimmying down those stairs...
It was underwhelming. I wish they weren't so committed to this Shug Avery visual. It's a bit stale and predictable imo. When the song first hit the net and everyone started going on about Shug Avery and the color purple, I just knew (or hoped) they were going to go in a totally different direction.
I did like when she finally got off stage and interacted with the guy though. That kinda got me up.

I feel like there is some backstory that isn't resolved in this version. Hopefully, there's an extended version that's more like a mini movie that fleshes out the storyline a bit.

I get that's what the song is about, but I'm glad she didn't go that route. She already fulfilled the theme of the song with the Color Purple homage. Her getting down on ha knees and all the extra dramatics would've been too much. :dead: if she was gonna stay true to the LYRICS, then I would prefer a completely modern themed video with a cunt storyline. It just would've been too much IMO.

What I like the most about the video is that is full of extras and has one particular aesthetics. Its cohesive. unlike many other videos out there that have random changes of sets, futuristic-intimate-streets-set-real location and the list goes on, lol.
This one is cohesive, it has a concept and they went with it. And Bran looks amazing and unique, just like the song, so its good. A storyline and longer video would have been even better, but we have to appreciate the work put into this. It has much more work than Wildest dreams video, so I really appreciate it

This was pretty dope. She looked amazing and it was pretty much what I expected once the fans swarmed her with the Shug Avery idea :kii:

It's a song reminiscent of simpler times, with a modern twist. I thought the video echoed that same theme. It was a little boring because there was just nothing unexpected. No wow factor. The visuals were gorgeous. Bran looks amazing. Budget may have limited the wardrobe and set. But what hurt the impact of it even more was timing. Should have been released a week earlier after all the BGR hype.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the VIDEO. The production looks top notch. I like the feel and inspiration from the film can't remember the name of it w Whoopi/Oprah. The song still blows me away. I love how excited she is about this album. I can tell we're geetting a personal/concept album!!!!!!
