The ?Real? Reason Tamar Braxton was Fired from ?The Real?: ?Negative Feedback on Her ?Ghetto? Persona, On-Set Insubordination, and a Rebellion by Advertisers?

Tamar Braxton?s sudden firing from ?The Real,? came as a surprise to a lot of people ? except the executives at Telepictures, the production company behind the show.

In our exclusive report, we told you the reason for Tamar?s firing had to do with her professionalism on set and the fact that she wasn?t testing well with audiences OR advertisers, but now we have a bit more information as to what exactly went down.

QuoteExecutives of the hit daytime talk show The Real fired Tamar Braxton because of negative feedback on her ?ghetto? persona given by focus groups ? as well as on-set insubordination and a rebellion by advertisers.

The  show?s sales team made it clear that advertisers did not want her in their segments due to her antics and lack of cooperation.
Specifically, there was an incident a few weeks ago that basically ended her run with the show.

QuoteDuring the final tapings of The Real in early May, the show?s executive producer had reached breaking point with Tamar, who cursed her out in earshot of other staffers on set after being upset she lost a game during the taping.

?It was an ugly scene. Pinterest was sponsoring the segment and Tamar was genuinely upset she was losing the game.

?She really acted out during the taping in front of the studio audience and then exploded behind the scenes once the show was done.

Producers had to heavily edit the segment to make it presentable to air on TV, but the sponsor was on set for the segment and witnessed it all,? the source explains.

According to production people on the show, Tamar?s outbursts on set were frequent. She regularly blew up at the executive producer and oftentimes her husband Vincent Hubert or her co-hosts would work to calm her down.

?Let?s just say she was becoming unbearable to work with,? the source added.

In addition to her alleged on-set antics, on paper Tamar wasn?t proving to be ?worth? the hassle.

QuoteTelepictures decided to conduct focus groups on the show to see what they could do to empower the show for Seasons 3 and 4, as it had been announced that the series had received a two-year renewal on all Fox stations and on BET where it re-airs.

The research from the focus group was not good for Tamar.

?The focus group research showed that most educated and working women did not identify with Tamar?s show vernacular and her use of words known to be popular among drag queens and some gay men ? phrases like ?get your life,? ?where they do that at,? ?have several seats.?

?It was even said she seemed more suited to be a judge on RuPaul?s Drag Race on Logo instead of a talk show host on The Real,? revealed the source.

?The research went on to say that most educated and working women found her to be ?ghetto? and that her aggressive eye-rolling, neck-rolling and the smacking of her mouth were indicative of ?stereotypical behavior that African American women have worked years to overcome,? the source continued.

The combination of the show?s focus group findings, her on-set insubordination and the fact that the sales team for the show had made it clear that advertisers did not want her in their segments due to antics that happened with Pinterest is what ultimately ledWarner Bros. to fire her from the show

And yes, Tamar?s husband Vincent Hubert was a producer of the show ? but he knew the network was having issues with his wife long before she got fired. We?re just not sure if SHE knew.

Quote? He knew they were having problems with her and he shielded Tamar from a lot of what was being said and done, but in the end his producer credit on the show was more about vanity and less about control,? the source revealed.

Warner Bros. wanted to work out an exit agreement with Tamar that wouldn?t make viewers aware she was being fired. Despite wanting to free themselves of her, they wanted the transition to take place smoothly.

?Before they could hammer out a joint statement and an agreement that was good for both parties, she posted a cryptic message about betrayal and an unnamed person who she feels ?stabbed? her ?in the back? after she ?stupidly trusted? on Instagram.

?It?s that type of impulsive behavior and lack of self control that is why she is off the show,? the source said.

I havent read the 1st post, but going by that tittle alone, Im sure thats the reason why her singles or album didnt do well, whatever the marketing was (videos included)

The audience or usa DOESNT care about her because of her person. Sadly, this seems to be a key to many listeners/buyers with certain artists, for some reason.

Ghetto? Really, is that why she was fired?

If each girl is supposed to represent or appeal to a certain market, why not also market to the ghetto/ratchet?

I'm not a fan but I think it's bullshit that they fired her for that. Loni is clearly not funny and the weakest link and she still has a job. :plzstop:

The show knew her personality when they hired her.

The clip ain't that bad at all. She's a little over the top but it's entertaining. And I thinks it's more than her just being too ghetto. Why not just ask her to tone it down a little for daytime TV? It's probably some behind the scenes mess that went down that we don't know about.

"Producers had to heavily edit the segment to make it presentable to air on TV, but the sponsor was on set for the segment and witnessed it all,? the source explains."

Omg. This is the reason why you have to be MINDFUL of how you conduct yourself AT WORK, on social media, etc. If your livelihood could be compromised. You don't work for yourself... and even then you should be mindful...

?The research went on to say that most educated and working women found her to be ?ghetto? and that her aggressive eye-rolling, neck-rolling and the smacking of her mouth were indicative of ?stereotypical behavior that African American women have worked years to overcome,? the source continued.

Oh wow. This one sucks. Cause SMART people know that not all black women behave that way. But ignorant non-black people would feed into that.

This makes a lot of sense. Daytime TV attracts a lot of grown women. Housewives, etc. Not too many gay men are really sitting down to watch daytime TV unless its a clip afterward on Youtube. They're out somewhere working or meeting someone off of Jack'd.

But at the same time they knew who Tamar was personality wise before she came on to do this. She hasn't changed one bit. I feel that now that the show actually has footing and is gaining loyal viewers, she's getting kicked to the curb. That's fucked up tbh. But this goes to show that sometimes your likability can make a big difference.

I think if she was more likable and open-minded they could have worked with her and maybe tweaked it a bit so she'd find more balance. But she seems hard headed, and it costed her the job. She became a liability instead of an asset. And that's the last thing you ever want to do.

And it almost seemed like Tamar was a walking parody of black female stereotypes.
Sometimes she purposely was extra extra extra. I think she thought it was cute, fun and edgy
her "niche" even.
but it ended up costing her the job.

Sometimes its cool to just chill out a bit, be yourself and don't try so hard.
if you're naturally "ghetto" people will see that regardless without you putting an exclamation point next to it.

and I'm sure the people on her payroll amped up her nonsense

I think it was more so her unprofessional behavior that was marked as "ghetto". The eye rolls, the stank face, not dancing and cheering as they all walked out, and her comments towards Jeannie.

All that probably rubbed the sponsor the wrong way. On top of the behind the scenes mess.

Jessica is a rich bitch. That's beneath her. And no one knows Mandy Moore.

I dunno. Tamar and Tamera really were so good together. Tamera is so cute, innocent and gullible. She needs someone who can really bring out her spark and personality more. Tamar was good at that. Whosoever they replace Tamar with should be funny but no so over the top. And I think a Becky would be nice. They talk about the panel representing everyone but there's no white rep. But after calling Tamar ghetto, that can be seen as shady and racist.

So I dunno I still say a Michelle/Monica/LeToya/Kelly ROWLAND type is needed

No offense at all but, if she was brought in u wouldn't be the demographic she's trying to capture. I know a couple of mandy moore songs and definitely know a couple of movie,  so im sure suzy and amanda would know a couple. And even beyond that,  seeing someone we recognize or can identify with  makes us more comfortable and open to something. I honestly don't feel like THE REAL has that for the common everyday white woman. Mandy moore would be that bridge to carry across some white viewers. But with that said, she's a terrible choice and its not up for debate :dead:

Tamar overdoes it though. That clip someone posted in here...the "She tried it" segment made me cringe.

You can be true to who you are without becoming a parody of yourself. And Tamar does that time and time again.
There's a huge difference.

I'm not waving any "cards" in your face. But you have to understand that I have this stupid label here as the "ghetto fag", so  when you said, "you're not the demographic" after I said that I didn't one Mandy Moore song, I didn't think you were talking about "young black males", more like "you're too ghetto" so she's not catering to you. I immediately got on the defense because it's like, "Here we go! Scott! Ghetto! Don't know shit about other cultures!"

I don't know how to feel about this post (the whole "YOU aren't the demographic" comment), but what I WILL say is that y'all really kill me when y'all try to act like I don't know about anything past ghetto culture. I know Mandy Moore, but never cared enough to listen to her music. Hell I love Jessica Simpson. "In This Skin" is probably one of my favorite albums period. I know you didn't mean to offend me at all, but it's crazy how y'all always limit me to one thing and that's not all I know regarding entertainment. You would be surprised.
But you wouldn't be the demographic,  that's just the truth :dead:
Alot of black people know britney spears but can't name a britney spears song.  Im not saying u can't know who mandy moore is but her brand is not and was not catering to young black males, that's just the truth :plzstop:
U don't have to be offended by that and wave ur "CULTURED" card in my face. Im sure there's white artists that u enjoy, that wasn't my intent.  Im sure there are white people that like K.Michelle or monifah or WHOEVER but when someone makes a decision to use them for something like a talk show, there's an intended target audience that they are meant to capture

I'm not waving any "cards" in your face. But you have to understand that I have this stupid label here as the "ghetto fag", so when you when you said, "you're not the demographic" after I said that I didn't one Mandy Moore song, I didn't think you were talking about "young black males", more like "you're too ghetto" so she's not catering to you.
f
No, all i was saying was she would cater to white women. U dont have to be on guard all the time.  I dont go out of my way to shade u about no ghetto mess.  they do the same thing to me, who cares :dead:

On second thought,  that's not fair. We all have our hot buttons and that's clearly one for u. I didn't mean it that way and i apologize if u took it to mean that.

Wish y'all would stop saying this they knew how she was before thing.  It's one thing to have a certain personality but they could not have anticipated her being terrible to work with, terrible to staff and producers, driving away sponsors, etc. Her being ghetto wasnt the nail in the coffin,  it was when her antics started to drive away sponsorship. They probably couldve dealt with the ghetto thing,  hell they have been for 2 years.  This aint 31 flavors, u can't give an assortment of problems.

I think it was more so her unprofessional behavior that was marked as "ghetto". The eye rolls, the stank face, not dancing and cheering as they all walked out, and her comments towards Jeannie.

All that probably rubbed the sponsor the wrong way. On top of the behind the scenes mess.

Tamar overdoes it though. That clip someone posted in here...the "She tried it" segment made me cringe.

You can be true to who you are without becoming a parody of yourself. And Tamar does that time and time again.
There's a huge difference.

But yea,  im sure she didn't either which is why she was fired.  They tried to give her a chance and tried to play her game,  having the girls wrangle her in and having her husband deal with her.  She felt like she was some integral part of the show, so she could act how she wanted. They let her know otherwise

Pinterest is a such a big company, Tamar didn't realize that it wasn't a simple game to show what the girls were able to create in thirty seconds.. It is all about reaching that target audience so the real has money to become bigger and bigger

At the end of the day it is about money: they are going to lose money because the sponsors won't work with fox anymore if Tamar stays. There are enough girls left to run the show. Vince should've warned her that she can't act like Funky Dineva. I hope that he didn't keep his mouth shut to protect her. To help her stay 'authentic'.

If you are professional you constantly have meetings with the people behind the scenes about how far you can go. If the real wants to reach a higher level you need to change to reach that goal. You can't be running around like some sort of petty Kanye over some garbage trophy.
