Tour looks lit. Love the staging and lights. I kinda like that there are male dancers cause its a difference from the 2/11 era. But I think having female dancers bring out the best in Brandy. She gives a more sensual dance. Wouldve preferred a non black outfit but she looks great. Hope to see more.

I still think they should've had the setup of 2 female dancers (one black, one Asian) and the 2 male backup dancers but based off her latest post, u can tell she was limited with her budget... A. Soooo. Brandy's strength is her vocal. Her music has some of the best layering and backgrounds in the game. WHY DOES SHE NOT HIRE BEAST background vocalist. Latavia and the other girl who do Jessie J's background vocals would add loads to a Brandy show.
B. This outfit... gorlll.......maybe its just me .. but when Brandy does Sexy it works. the chicago show. the Philly show.. and the LA club show.. those outfits and presentation were so on point.
C. Some of this choreo is a mess.. and these dancers just...... aint cutting it.
Now maybe she doesnt have the coin to do all that.. but baby.. if I was her tour director or creative counsel. All these things would definitely be on the table for discussion.

It's time to take the creativity to the next level & produce a show we all know she & her team are capable of giving.

I figure Brandy is performing all her singles and older songs because this is her first time in Australia. Once she gets to U.K. And hopefully U.S. I'm sure she will start adding more and more album cuts.
It's not perfect but I appreciate the little things she is doing. Like the changing of song arrangements, different looks. Etc.
And Her stage presence is great. I will say though that I have studied Brandys voice and she kept it cute last night. I wanted to hear more from her in that regard.

Ummm yes I have actually but to say Two Eleven was her worst era is a bit of a reach... She basically tranformed as a performer right before our eyes and she slayed image wise as well... The era shat regardless if the second single choice fucked it up but if all would've went well it would've been prolly her best era in a decade... The album was prolly not as cohesive and epic as NSN, FM or Afro but it was def solid and did its job in terms of connecting Bran with the general public/younger audience....

There was a real sense of anticipation and celebration in the air as long-time fans looked forward to finally seeing the star in the flesh. But as the clock ticked, the air when out of the balloon.
When Brandy and her band finally appeared it was 9:49 and there was more of a sense of relief and joy by that point. Perhaps this being the first show on the tour, there were last minute details to work out, I don?t know, but the 37-year-old songstress had a bit of work to do to gain back the good will she?d had an hour ago.
That said, the first few songs were disappointing. Brandy?s vocals were so low in the mix, that I was suspicious that she wasn?t singing at all.
With her on stage were a live drummer (Page), sequestered behind plexi-glass and a gentleman named Tony who was surrounded by keyboards and other electronic gadgets. There were also two male dancer/backing singers.
With Brandy?s vocals so hard to hear, early on, it was easy to focus on the choreography, which was impressive. Brandy and her two dancers shimmied and shook in sync and gave the fans something to cheer about.
Finally, Brandy asked, Do you mind if I take you back just a little bit?? This led to a performance of her 1998 hit Top Of The World followed by the 1996 hit Sittin? Up In My Room.
Suddenly Brandy could be heard and all was right with the world thanks to this little trip down memory lane.
She proceeded to rattle through more hits and after Have You Ever, she left the stage briefly, only to return with a silver bow in her hair and a couple of Whitney Houston songs to sing. After How Will I Know and I Wanna Dance With Somebody Brandy spoke to the crowd about her love for Whitney, noting that the superstar passed away on her (Brandy?s) birthday.
While the music was good, what really won me over was Brandy?s attitude. I was sitting close enough to see that see seemed to be really enjoying herself and that she wasn?t taking herself too seriously. She pulled faces during her dance moves and laughed off forgetting the lyrics to Wildest Dreams.
The set finished at just over an hour, but the best was yet to come. Brandy and her band returned to perform a powerful version of Beggin? & Pleadin?. Based around a 50-year-old sample of John Lee Hooker?s Boom Boom, it laid the groundwork for Brandy?s most impressive vocal performance of the night.
With nothing left to prove, the show was over just before 11pm. After all that, I?m glad I was there, I?d rather not have to wait so long next time though.

It should be 1 hour and a half, agreed. A concert should be a big experience to remember, some people may only watch you once in their lives, for whatever reason, so 1 hour is just too short and leaves plenty of stuff/songs out.
- 1 hour could be all they paid her for
- It could be because the show started late and she had to be off the stage by 11pm
- People that attended seem to be more than satisfied with the show

I was just gonna mention Shattered heard some minutes ago. It was one of the stand out tracks, if not THE Stand out song of Human.
Easily one of my faves from Human, next to 1st and love and Fall.

Just finished watching. Everything was solid and I love how you can tell she really implemented her vision. She's only going to get better from here on out when it comes to becoming more of a visual artist. I can already see it. I love the intro to Afrodisiac and the elements of Jazz/Chicago she mixed in. Everything flowed seamlessly. Even the "In These Streets" transition was good, it was theatrical and worked well. She can scrap Top of the World, Sittin' up in My Room, Baby, and Have You Ever. A lot of slow songs in between that felt like filler. The Whitney tribute also took of a chunk of time so if she gets rid of the 90's medley it may work better. I also would like her to use a more vibrant color for her wardrobe. Her voice sounded a little tired in parts, so I hope she considers hiring some BG Vocalists. I don't blame her though because she is funding this all on her own.
The best performances imo were Wildest Dreams/Magic/Human Nature. Like I said earlier, this mid-tempo pop-soul vibe is where her voice shines the most.
I'm so proud of Brandy and I just know the Musicalize tour dates are going to be amazing. I actually think the budget may be bigger and musicalize may be filming and uploading her performances. We'll see.
the outfits are slaying. Wish I could experience it in person. U can tell she's mad hype. Only wish she didn't use Frank Gatson and got with a new choreographer

So I watched the tour video... I thought it was great, glad to see her just comfortable on stage and letting loose... I will say thou these couple of things could go:
1. Male Backup dancers/Mics - some of the choreo looked awkward as fuck with them and they don't look confident in their moves most of the time... she needs females or more experienced males and dead the mics (not needed at all)
2. Whitney Tribute - She don't need it at all... Or maybe only do Shoop and punch... So many other songs from her catalog she can fill in during that time (UDKM, TAOL, Come As U Are, All In Me, Anybody, etc)
3. In These Streets Skit - Its cool but I'm still on the fence about it... It will definitely translate better in the US thou
4. Bring back the choreo for Wildest Dreams & PID - I'm so used to her fuckin it up with the choreo that her just standing there it's weird to me for WD... And PID that dab shit was cute for one chorus but I need the original choreo back cuz that used to slay!!!
5. Mase verse from TOTW - Unless Mase ain't coming out to perform it cut it lol, how the way it transitioned during Two Eleven era was perfect

5. Mase verse from TOTW - Unless Mase ain't coming out to perform it cut it lol, how the way it transitioned during Two Eleven era was perfect

I agree with most of this.
I just finished the whole thing.
The male dancers were singing though to numerous songs but as a whole, I'd prefer her with female singers and dancers. She kind of feeds off of females better.
The Whitney tribute can stay but shoop felt out of place. If she wanted to sing it she should've included it in the mix with her slower songs like almost doesn't count, have you ever, etc.
The in these street kit actually worked. It brought some production value to the show but I will say it really would've slayed if she had skits like that throughout the enitre show, as if she was telling a story... Not like a musical obviously but musical inspired.
All in all, very good show! Her vocals are crazy!

Just finished watching and...omg...she's just amazing! Words can't begin to decribe how awesome she is. Hearing her sing and seeing her perform is such a treat because you never know HOW she will sing it. It's just like with her album tracks, I can listen to any Brandy song hundreds of times, and STILL hear something completely NEW. I cannot think of any other artist that has great musical replay value like that...she proves time after time why she's in her own lane, and to compare her to anyone is just an insult...

Can I just say Brandy did an amazing job with this concert?! I love how she is killing it with her vocals, dance moves, and overall performance skills. You can tell this is what she 'a born to do. And I like that they've encompassed a little Broadway in there because it's part of her particular journey and skill set, now. Every artist has something a little different that they do that's unique to them in their shows. I think the little Broadway / jazz intro was unique. And it kind of brought out where Brandy is now.
I love that she's doing different songs than usual. But she's still not neglecting her hits, which put her where she is.
The only thing is I want her to finally get a bigger budget because I think an artist with her accomplishments deserves some LED screens behind her and more dancers and things to just make the show even bigger.
But other than that, I'm riding with her. She's so talented. The show will keep getting better.

It was a tight affair, with Brandy bringing an even tighter stage setup for the occasion: One drummer, a keyboardist, and two handsome backing singers-cum-dancers.
She dispensed with many of her biggest 90s hits early in rapid-fire medley style ? very Janet Jackson ? delivering What About Us, Sitting Up In My Room, Full Moon and others in quick succession.
Alongside the expected 90s hits, the evening leaned heavily on her best album to date, 2004?s Timbaland-helmed Afrodisiac (seriously, one of the finest R&B albums of the noughties).
Throughout, the 37-year-old was in tirelessly energetic form, nailing her dance routines and even joining in on a few of the guest raps in her biggest hits.
There were welcome surprises ? her cover of Coldplay?s Magic, better than the original, was mashed-up with a lovely rendition of Michael Jackson?s classic Human Nature. And a three-song excursion into Whitney Houston?s back catalogue was a fitting tribute to an artist who Brandy said ?meant more to me than any other artist.?
There were a few odd choices though, too. By far her biggest hit ? 1998?s world-conquering duet with Monica, The Boy Is Mine ? felt thrown away, delivered mid-set as a showcase for an audience member to show off her own vocal chops. The woman had a fantastic voice (?Let?s get her off stage before she steals the whole damn concert!? Brandy quipped), but it was hard not to feel a little disappointed Brandy hadn?t taken centre stage during her most iconic song. That song, or a couple of her other huge hits, would?ve been better saved for an encore that instead leaned heavily on Brandy?s more recent, lesser-heard material.
Still, this was a stellar set, performed to a faithful crowd of 90s R&B fans revelling in the sort of tour we don?t get enough of on these shores. Let?s hope it doesn?t take her another 20 years to make it back.

Her tone is unmatched. And she look so comfortable performing in that style. CUNT Bran is good but this style seems more natural for her. I like that she's giving us, artist and performer.
She's so effortless & confident on atage now.
I'm proud of Bran. She put lots of work into this tour & it shows. This will only lead her to more resources in due time.

I have been waiting for Brandy to tour Australia for years, as have many of my fellow Australians, and this week we were finally rewarded with one of the finest nights of live music I have been to.
It is a cold, winter Monday night, I have a dirty cold, my retail job was hell and I have a rare night off performing in a theatre show - going out was the last thing I wanted to do. But once the first note of "Afrodisiac" belted through the very full Enmore Theatre in Sydney, I had forgotten my woes and was up dancing the whole night.
When you first fell in love with an artist in the 90s, you worry they may not live up to your expectation 20 years later. The recent 90s Mania was underwhelming and I was worried the same may happen with Brandy, I shouldn't have. The night was perfection and Brandy's voice is sublime, so perfect, better than I thought it was going to be. Her tone was so rich and those notes were incredible. This was a night that truly showcased what an amazing vocalist she is.
The staging was simple, it didn't need to be massive. There was a staircase, a drummer, a keyboardist, two dancer / vocalists and a DJ off on the side. Brandy took centre stage with such full abandon and really did hit the ground running. She began with medleys of her biggest hits, and wow did they make the crowd scream. The aforementioned "Afrodisiac" was up first and set the tone perfectly. "What About Us?" and "Who Is She 2U" were great, and "Full Moon" was a clear favourite.
I guess many of us love the really early stuff and these were treats. "Top of the World" was epic, as was, "Sittin' Up In My Room" and when she sang a medley of her first three hits, "Baby", "Best Friend" and "I Wanna Be Down", the crowd went insane. The latter two are some of my favourite songs of all time, so this was such a treat to hear it performed live and performed so exquisitely.
By the time she came to "The Boy Is Mine" the pace had slowed slightly and we were being treated to full songs. Brandy seemed genuinely touched that the song was such a massive hit in Australia. She invited a fan to sing with her, which was great, but I would have loved to hear Brandy sing it, not just the fan.
When she hit the ballads, my emotions were at fever pitch. "Almost Doesn't Count" was perfect, and had Jessie J, who was sitting in the same row as me, singing along with such passion. And then there was "Have You Ever?", wow, just wow. I'm not a concert crier, last time was when Madonna surprised Melbourne with "Like a Prayer", my favourite song of all time. I will admit I shed a few tears as Brandy slayed a tune that has always meant so much to me. Her voice soared, filling the theatre with her beautiful soul.
Speaking of shedding tears, her tribute to Whitney was beautiful. She came out, Whitney head scarf on, and sang both "How Will I Know?" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody". She sounded so incredible on these tracks, then telling us how much she missed Whitney and that she was her favourite singer of all time. She then asked if it would be okay if she sang with Whitney, and launched into "Exhale", this is where my tears were running. This was so special to witness.
If there was a downfall, we didn't get to hear all her singles. I adore both "Right Here (Departed) and "Long Distance" from the "Human" album, was hoping to hear them - but I guess you can't sing everything!
I could talk a lot longer about the evening, it was probably my second favourite show I've been to this year. What a treat to see an artist you really love, who helped shape your music tastes while younger, and watch them own the stage. I have been waiting for Brandy to tour Australia for years, as have many of my fellow Australians, and this week we were finally rewarded with one of the finest nights of live music I have been to.
It is a cold, winter Monday night, I have a dirty cold, my retail job was hell and I have a rare night off performing in a theatre show - going out was the last thing I wanted to do. But once the first note of "Afrodisiac" belted through the very full Enmore Theatre in Sydney, I had forgotten my woes and was up dancing the whole night.
When you first fell in love with an artist in the 90s, you worry they may not live up to your expectation 20 years later. The recent 90s Mania was underwhelming and I was worried the same may happen with Brandy, I shouldn't have. The night was perfection and Brandy's voice is sublime, so perfect, better than I thought it was going to be. Her tone was so rich and those notes were incredible. This was a night that truly showcased what an amazing vocalist she is.
The staging was simple, it didn't need to be massive. There was a staircase, a drummer, a keyboardist, two dancer / vocalists and a DJ off on the side. Brandy took centre stage with such full abandon and really did hit the ground running. She began with medleys of her biggest hits, and wow did they make the crowd scream. The aforementioned "Afrodisiac" was up first and set the tone perfectly. "What About Us?" and "Who Is She 2U" were great, and "Full Moon" was a clear favourite.
I guess many of us love the really early stuff and these were treats. "Top of the World" was epic, as was, "Sittin' Up In My Room" and when she sang a medley of her first three hits, "Baby", "Best Friend" and "I Wanna Be Down", the crowd went insane. The latter two are some of my favourite songs of all time, so this was such a treat to hear it performed live and performed so exquisitely.
By the time she came to "The Boy Is Mine" the pace had slowed slightly and we were being treated to full songs. Brandy seemed genuinely touched that the song was such a massive hit in Australia. She invited a fan to sing with her, which was great, but I would have loved to hear Brandy sing it, not just the fan.
When she hit the ballads, my emotions were at fever pitch. "Almost Doesn't Count" was perfect, and had Jessie J, who was sitting in the same row as me, singing along with such passion. And then there was "Have You Ever?", wow, just wow. I'm not a concert crier, last time was when Madonna surprised Melbourne with "Like a Prayer", my favourite song of all time. I will admit I shed a few tears as Brandy slayed a tune that has always meant so much to me. Her voice soared, filling the theatre with her beautiful soul.
Speaking of shedding tears, her tribute to Whitney was beautiful. She came out, Whitney head scarf on, and sang both "How Will I Know?" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody". She sounded so incredible on these tracks, then telling us how much she missed Whitney and that she was her favourite singer of all time. She then asked if it would be okay if she sang with Whitney, and launched into "Exhale", this is where my tears were running. This was so special to witness.
If there was a downfall, we didn't get to hear all her singles. I adore both "Right Here (Departed) and "Long Distance" from the "Human" album, was hoping to hear them - but I guess you can't sing everything!
I could talk a lot longer about the evening, it was probably my second favourite show I've been to this year. What a treat to see an artist you really love, who helped shape your music tastes while younger, and watch them own the stage. Come back any time Ms Norwood, we love you here in Australia!

it also isnt in the original key. she pitched it down a half step i think.

Lipped? Well I've heard pretty much all the B&P performances from each show and the hardest parts vocally are always different, I believe. I don't see her pre recorded before each show... But I could be tripping. Only part I thought was lipped was when she sung "good gawd" at the end over and over again but I don't remember that section being as long in the other performances. But I very well could be wrong.

i just realized matthew johnson is singing behind her, the bald one. he's a beast. he used to sing for india arie during her first two album eras. he and usher were up for the same deal when they were kids. i still have some of his music from back in the day. very good guy and big brandy fan.
