He's preaching! 1970s being the turning point for us actually getting a taste of real freedom. Its so sad the shit that we still have to endure just to reach equality.
This is cleanup duty. She knows she fckd up and she's trying to own her shit to get back in everyone's good graces. This is nothing more than a PR move but YAY!

&im sorry but she is just SO unintelligent to me. I think she was allowing him to speak to "educate" but i also think she sat in silence because she just isnt equipped to have this kinda convo.
I dont see it ever happening unless this race of people is abolished and a higher power starts all over again.

That's one thing about us, we are quick to call each other out but we are a very forgiving and welcoming people. Wendy did the right thing
That's the exception. Not the rule.
sssssss
I dunno HOW to feel
I think Wendy just put her job over her culture. it's more of the shows culture IMO. The producers and staff should apologize too.
I kinda felt bad for her, but why allow yourself to be the white man's monkey sis? Just up on stage acting a FOOL for coin and to ki.
It's a classic case that a lot of blacks face. To fit in and ki and get paid, or to speak up!
So I can believe her apology. I think Roland actually DRAGGED her back into reality
I see what you're saying Bent, but that remark was off the cuff and not scripted at all. I feel like she acknowledged that it was an ignorant thing to say and it was big of her to invite Roland on her show. But I can't help but find it a bit patronizing still. Something about it bothers me.
Yea, im not fckn clapping

She's made a career out of being ignorant though. I wouldn't blame her producers and staff.

He is bringing up a great point , something scary that I always mention on here
One thing I discovered while doing my family research is that we are not nearly as far removed from the Civil Rights movement and even slavery as we'd feel comfortable to believe.
My aunt and uncle were alive to see the Civil Rights movement play out. Yes its 2016 but sadly we are NOT the generation that is going to see this "amazing change" in society that we loved to talk about once Obama was elected.
Ku Klux Klansmen who hung Blacks in the 60's from trees are still alive today. Sadly , we are watching yet another hugely tragic moment in Black history play out with the Black Lives Matter movement and police slayings. The Klansmen have simply switched from nooses to licensed firearms.
Young kids will be reading about this years and years down the line, just as we read about the Civil Rights Movement. They too, may feel that they are far separated from what they're reading in class.
It's going to be a LONG time before we fully see this "change" that we thought was in effect once Obama was elected.
!!!! the changes have been in small doses and in little increments here and there, and we've made strides, but we have a WAYS to go for sure. When he laid out that timeline
:plzstop:

i think we should at least commend her for allowing him to use such a big platform to educate many people that watch her show. He just touched a demographic that he normally wouldn't get a chance to reach. I think it's good PR and i think she's really sorry/contrite here.
Either way, im more than glad that she chose to do it.

!!!
At the very least she's reversed the ignorance she put out there by inviting him on her show.
And the coon ass tap dancing she put out there for her blond white audience.
Whether she's genuine with her willingness to accept her mistake and learn from it is totally up to her. I can't and won't be the judge of that.
all I know is she did the right thing, for herself and for her viewers. And for Blacks in general. When you're wrong, say you were wrong.
Cuz some people are stubborn and dumb enough to remain steadfast in their ignorance at any cost. Stand their ground regardless of who's hurt. Glad she's not one of them.
!
all of this
How does she not know these things when she's FIVE years older than him?
Bbb fucking coon
This was very good
And I'm sure her parents lashed her for her comments

You know what? She has two educated parents, and her dad is an Alpha. Something tells me the basics of why HBCUs and the NAACP exist are things she already knew, but she just wanted to repeat something ignorant to try to connect with whites. She's not that stupid. I'm sure her parents were disgusted. Did she also tell her dad BGLO are racist?
This was a calculated PR move, but hopefully she learned to keep her stupid comments to herself lest she be served more humble pie.
Yes, the timeline he laid out lets everyone know we JUST BARELY got a SEMBLANCE of freedom and equality fairly recently. I always remember that my parents' generation desegregated their schools here in the South (they're in their 50s), so it is not that far removed from me. Perhaps Wendy would know more about American history, Reconstruction, the Great Migration, the Civil Rights Movement, and black history in general if she attended African American studies courses at an HBCU, like I did.
She should really be ashamed of herself. But I insist that she knows better. She's 50.
After all this though, Im sure Chevrolet is still not clapping.
