SOMETHING, cause I dont truly love any song on it tbh. The song I like the most is probably I made it, which is ironic cause that's just how I feel at the end of that fckn album :overit:

and the album isn't very Soul Rock-ish like she was promoting it to be. I want to hear the original album tbh.

that's what I was thinking too. Like where are all the "rock soul" tracks? It honestly sounds like an album ud expect from one of our old divas. Like if this were a patti album or something then Id be more willing to clap

I'm crying  :plzstop: cause this is such an accurate description. It's giving me "I'm a retired legend who just wants Urban AC spins" wtf. Yea, this is a let down. The production is solid, the songwriting is cute but it's missing something. It doesn't feel like Tasia to me. Honestly Sleepin' is the only song that is very Tasia. She really let have vocally on that song. The other songs it feels like she was holding back. I guess Ron Flair doesn't like her squalling.

I haven't listened to it, but y'all know her last album was supposed to be rock-soul. These labels get in the way of a lot of these artists' artistry. She recorded an WHOLE album with Raphael Saadiq and the album didn't want. I hate it when the labels step in and dumb down the artists. The same with K, I was looking forward to the country mess until they came along

Great album. Just wish it had more songs with rock soul like "Lonely Legend".

I was watching her on facebook live and she said something about being grateful being able to make the album she wanted to make. Now I bet a Raphael Saadiq backed album was something like amazing. where tf is THAT cause :overit:

Just like on the last album, the only song that was CLOSE to Rock-SOul was probably "Get It RIGHT"

I like the album actually. It's certainly doesn't live up to Tasia's fullest potential i.e. 'Back To Me' and self titled however,  its solid and consistent. 'When I Met You',  'Ugly',  'Stay Up' and 'Lonely Legend' are my favs.

I at least really liked her last album tho. Like I would never think I would feel this way about her shit. Ive been kinda listening waiting for that AH HA moment. I still bought it tho because I support Fantasia. Imma go see her live whenever she comes this way. I bet THAT'S when I'll be able to get into the songs, when I see her sing em live

Yep!
This was from the session with Raphael Saadiq

Dirty Swift from Midi Mafia said this afew years back that Fantasia doesn't have any creative control.
She recorded an album with Midi Mafia as well, but the label didn't like it and she was hurt.

QuoteRaphael Saadiq confirmed his work with the former ?When I See You? singer this week. Calling their project together ?soulful but really strong,? Saadiq says ?a little bit of Aretha (Franklin) mixed up with a little bit of Labelle?.

Dirty Swift said Fantasia loved "Overload" and wanted it to be the 1st single, but Clive said "no ma'am!"
It worked out though because she got her Grammy with "Bittersweet".

Really love almost all of the songs on the album, my problem is that it isn't cohesive and doesn't flow well at all. Sounds like they belong on different albums

Move on Me is what these album should have gave. That is my favorite song by her. It just shits. You can tell she likes those songs with live instruments the most. I can't fathom why they won't let any AI winner have creative control over their album. Same shit with KC.

These days Fanny is definitely holding back
I feel it in the music and performances
I saw her concert a few weeks back and she was amazing but that electricity wasn't there
She's tryna hold back to redefine her brand but it's creating a disconnect
And I loved the album initially but I haven't had any interest to relisten

it had to grow on me because it's very low energy for her but

Stay Up, I Made It>>>>
