Do you think the genre has evolved? Devolved?
Is it your favorite?
Are artists in R&B or Hip Hop innovative?
I really don't listen to the radio at all. I only Check for the artists I closely follow now. Smh

Any particular reason why?
Rappers are in limbo right now
They don't know what to rap about
I think there has been a surge in rap lately and R&B has fallen by the wayside. I really hope there is another golden era of R&B and Hip Hop like there was in the '90s in which both genres transcended mainstream and outsold pop mess.
It's about to shift to the next age
It's evolved as much as it can in its current state
Fuck the other girls, I just miss Brandy tbqfhwyrn :stressed:
It's stagnating. Everyone is doing the same mess and it's boring.
Same goes for pop music as well really.
And I am sick of these white pop artists using Caribbean rhythms
I feel bored.
I enjoy music here and there.
I miss Brandy.
Honestly.

Cause I don't like majority of the stuff that they play on the radio. I haven't bought a full album this year from nobody but K. Michelle and Solange. :stressed:
Music has been really good this past year tbh
But I think it has reached a peak in a sense
Time for a shift in sound. I think we are beginning to get glimpses of it tho
But as far as the way R&B is treated in the mainstream side of things is absolutely fucking disgusting and I won't have much more of it tbh
I think people should stop releasing "First Singles" before the album comes out.

n
I think its a hell of a lot better than it was five years ago
Honestly, It hasn't been stimulating for me in a while. I do admit I haven't really tried to keep up with it because I found it so stagnant and boring. Dudes are still singing about the same things, production kinda dominates the other components of songs, and it's just not imaginative imo. I also know that Im not the biggest fan of "singers" though, Im more about the music so that could be why I feel this way too.
Im definitely open to suggestions if im mistaken. I really just think it's been dull af for years now.
Hip Hop is terrible . Not with this future-esque rapping mess. Beats are cool for the club though.
Not sure how to fix it because the Poetry lyrical artists Kendrick bore me too.
It's eh.. I don't use a lot of the current artists that are out now. It's not enough diversity between the female artists. Everybody giving the same damn thing tbh.
Ehh the industry is dead and R&B artists are suffering the most
But at least the indie side keeps pushing out good music

i know i want her to come back and slay. I need her to have her Emancipation of MIMI moment :stressed:
Well according to Diddy, Khalani or whatever ha name is, saved R&B :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:
Rap>R&B
I think the issue is everyone either wants to be faux deep or faux rappers.

Yeah, she's the only artist I keep up with really. I like other artist, but Brandy is it for me.
I feel like male R&B has definitely made a major comeback recently. Hip Hop is obviously still thriving.

Yes, when Brandy comes, she needs to drop a damn load on us. I really hope that's what she does.
I miss songs like "Missing You" by Case and "and "Emotional" by Carl Thomas. Just so beautiful!
I think quality wise I've been enjoying the R&B albums this year
commercially though it's gonna continue to falter until someone can find a way to make it interesting to more than just Black women and gays
Yeah R&B albums this year have been really good and solid.

Yeah def no need for the first single anymore... just build up some hype the week of, drop it and shoot videos for songs that are single worthy or make the most sense to sell it...
