Poll
Question: If an artist is proven to be a racist, rapist, homophobe, killer etc, do you boycott their work?
Option 1: I would never support the art of such a piece of shit human.
Option 2: I will keep consuming their past work/ classics, but won't support any future projects/ products.
Option 3: Nothing changes for me. I don't care about an artists personal life. If I'm a fan of their art, that's what it is.
Option 4: I will keep supporting their art and indulge in stan wars, denying or even glorifying the artists horrible actions.

One thing all of the above artists share: They all have a, let's say problematic past. However we all have that one favorite song, album or movie of theirs that we just can't live without. These artists have classics, they are a part of history (well except for Camila and Iggy).

Then one day you turn on your TV to find out that your favorite artist is someone who has raped hundreds of women, peed on random minors and videotaped himself doing it, left racist twitter comments for years and recorded solo songs behind their groups back, bashed their girls face in, shot their boyfriend, or written homophobic lyrics. Do you still support the artist and their work?

I've been thinking about this for a while now and I'm asking myself: Do we as a society have the obligation to boycott artists who are proven to be guilty for e.g. raping someone? Do we pull all their work out of stores/ museums/ streaming platforms? Do we keep enjoying their past work, but demand a confession + apology to the world before even considering to support future projects of theirs? Do we just act as if nothing ever happened, never talk about it and give them award after award?

The discussion is open now. Feel free to post some pictures of other problematic artists aswell.

It makes sense..that the Bert fans don?t believe it. That is how these girls enter the cult. They probably started as ride or die fans too.

The runaway slave master rhyme was disgusting
And I?m over her to be honest..
I think when she started she seemed down to earth but then she bought herself a new body and is still making the same type of songs she released years ago. Where is the growth?

It depends on what the artist has done/said tho. If you?re molesting underaged girls and constantly using racial slurs, I can?t separate that and support you.

I feel like I'm selective with the mess.

Azealia is a crazy mess but I still bop to her music, but I can't stand Bert so I don't listen to his own music.

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.
Like with Michael Jackson. I CANNOT listen to a pedophile. Like...anytime I hear a song by him it grosses me out.

There are just levels to shit that i can and cannot separate.

I have cut off artists before for saying or doing shit I can?t get behind. Once they open their mouth and it?s out there ...it ain?t going away

I can?t toss coins at someone who utterly disgusts me. I.E. nickel, JD, Tyrese, Xtinct, Rasheeda and D!nk

Just to name a few on a very long list.

Most people pick and choose of course. I really don?t know
