Also I get what that Lonz user is saying. I'd post a pic of my hair when it was shorter and it's definitely wavy without me doing anything. It just laid flat.

It took my a long ass time to geow out my hair cause i?d start and keep cutting it because people would also tell me basically ?nigger your naps and kinks are present cut it!? They didnt care when my hair was long enough to brush because it looked smooth and people wanted to touch it, but when I started growing my hair longer blacks couldnt take. He longer it got younger blacks cooled down, but older blacks hated it the more it grew.
But when my hair was at its longest, i got compliments and now that i have dreads the girls are really living for it.
It shouldn't have been such a struggle for me to grow my hair out because niggers were so against it, but now the girls are like oohh luv ur hair.
Why did non blacks love my hair but it took blacks 5 years to acceot my hair.
Stop lying boy
Waves will always be a thing for black men. I just never personally cared for them.

i used to comb my curls out every day because i wanted a high-top afro look.
(like the one keith photoshopped on me years ago :dead: :dead: )
I've always loved the look of big Afro hair. So naturally..
i wanted to have a big voluminous look . i get kinda jealous when i see people with big afro hair. and wish my hair was real thick like that.
they get to do MORE to it IMO . my cousin tried a twist out for me down south...i was SO fucking excited ...I woke up the next morning to unravel it, and it looked a thin struggling mess. Nothing like the people i saw on youtube. :'( :'( and she did it perfectly in terms of the process.
people may think u feel ur all of that because u have certain hair but they have no clue how you really feel or what u wish you had.
taking thousands of pics of it and mess...the same hair pose pic a million times...thats really underlying insecurity at work - a need of validation of some sort. but im so used to having hair now that the less I have to talk about it or handle it, the better.
I do the bare minimum with it and it looks 100x better to me. I stopped all the combing it and mess. and just perch in confidence with what God gave you.
People of color >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
We're all naturally beautiful, age better and all. Aside from privilege, I have no clue why anyone would wanna be White.

we have a couple new Black people in the office who rock their natural hair..beautiful afros and twists.
they were havin a discussion - a couple guys and girls...about hair care, what they do with it, etc. perms they've gotten, flat irons...twist outs..the usual Black hair convo which I am VERY familiar with...as a BLACK fucking person from a BLACK neighborhood and a BLACK fucking church with BLACK fucking friends
but i felt so excluded. they didn't even find a way to include me as they did everyone else...and im thinking like HELLO im black too and i have natural hair...why is everyone included but me. but the question surely is rhetorical for me at this point as i know the answer is already.
im sure they're thinking "oh he has 'good' hair...he aint part of this convo".
and i know it sounds so trivial but it kinda hurts me when i feel excluded like that. its those little moments when u feel just a bit of shade from ur own people. i dont think its done purposely but thats not my point.
and whats even more hurtful is that some people assume because u look a certain way that u think ur better than them. they dont even know u. oh i know he mixed with something so he must automatically think he better than me. oh his hair curly so he think he the bomb.
i'm brown and have curly/wavy hair with nice skin so i must be Dominican. I'm not fully Black. gotta be mixed with something...he aint REALLY one of us. meanwhile i have two whole ass black parents who put me into this world. doesn't get any fucking blacker than my father. :dead:
and some people wonder why the hell i damn near lost my mind tryna figure out whats so different about me. what r people seeing? u dont realize it until other people point it out and kinda exclude u from shit. i don't even think they realize that they're doing it sometimes but its really fucking hurtful .
at least I have brown skin ...my nose....theres no denying my Blackness. if anyone ever really questions it i can always point to the color of my fucking hand. i can only imagine what its like for light skin people WITH the "good hurr" . which is why when i see them share their stories im not quick to give a "ooooh boo hoo mixed boy....so hard being mixed and light skin with good hair huh? :-( :'( :'( :'( :'( " mess owt.

Why did non blacks love my hair but it took blacks 5 years to acceot my hair.
ive seen that happen before.
when i was down south, some of the black women would ALERT the men if their hair reached a certain point of growth.
"wat u gonna do with that? whats the plan? its gettin kinda ... :udontlookok: "
its like they couldn't stand the sight of his own natural hair growing out of his fucking scalp. it didnt even look sloppy. it really pissed me off but i really try to keep my mouth shut on certain things because i automatically feel i dont deserve to put my dog in certain fights. id definitely get the "shut the fuck up curly boy" treatment.
but becoming less common as more black people embrace their natural mess.
the men at my job are proudly rocking their fros and twists. its so sexy to me.
and its a lot more diversity here in NYC and its more "trendy" here...so its less controversial and political here when someone rocks their natural hair.
(it shouldnt be controversial or political to begin with ,... ANYWHERE... since its only someone rocking their own fucking natural hair ...but mess)
yes im so glad things are changing
i also think the toxic masculinity is fading a bit as well
cause your natural hair and styling it is considered not manly lol by

Not forced
He's right. Those "Box" waves
they look like..waves to me
How do they look forced :guys:
those are fingerwaves
you slap gel
and use ur finger to create the wave and a gel to hold it
vs
your hair with constant grooming creating its own wave pattern

we have a couple new Black people in the office who rock their natural hair..beautiful afros and twists.
they were havin a discussion - a couple guys and girls...about hair care, what they do with it, etc. perms they've gotten, flat irons...twist outs..the usual Black hair convo which I am VERY familiar with...as a BLACK fucking person from a BLACK neighborhood and a BLACK fucking church with BLACK fucking friends
but i felt so excluded. they didn't even find a way to include me as they did everyone else...and im thinking like HELLO im black too and i have natural hair...why is everyone included but me. but the question surely is rhetorical for me at this point as i know the answer is already.
im sure they're thinking "oh he has 'good' hair...he aint part of this convo".
and i know it sounds so trivial but it kinda hurts me when i feel excluded like that. its those little moments when u feel just a bit of shade from ur own people. i dont think its done purposely but thats not my point.
and whats even more hurtful is that some people assume because u look a certain way that u think ur better than them. they dont even know u. oh i know he mixed with something so he must automatically think he better than me. oh his hair curly so he think he the bomb.
i'm brown and have curly/wavy hair with nice skin so i must be Dominican.
:-( :'( :'( :'( :'( " mess owt.
if i feel excluded and envied at times and i clearly have africa runnin all up inside of me i can only fucking imagine.
sorry for the thesis btw. but this was a bit therapeutic actually. cried just a bit. :plzstop:

i used to comb my curls out every day because i wanted a high-top afro look.
