I was a stan when she released Blackout all the up until Piece of Me became a single
Then the performances kept getting worse and worse, the bad hair extensions and she started to look older and older :uhh:
It was all just too much
Her first 5 eras>>>>
BOMT>>>>
Oops>>>>
Britney>>>
ITZ >>>>
Blackout>>>
The Circus era birthed some of her best Pop songs and she was still somewhat coherent. After that it went down hill. FF was cute and Till the World Ends will always be a bop but she was clearly drugged :dead: it's ashamed what happened to her though.

The entire In The Zone album/era was everything. I Got That (Boom Boom), Touch Of My Hand, Breathe On Me, and The Hook Up should've been singles.
The album could've been much bigger if she didn't injure her knee and released more singles omf :stressed:
Singles should've went like this:
1. Me Against The Music
2. Toxic
3. Breathe On Me
4. I Got That (Boom Boom)
5. Touch Of My Hand
6. The Hook Up
7. Everytime

Speaking of Quee?s power, she?s getting her own Broadway show.
QuoteHot off the heels of her Vegas residency, Britney Spears' hit songs are once again returning to the stage - this time in the form of a Broadway musical. While rumors started circulating last year, the pop princess has reportedly given the green light, and was recently spotted on her way to a reading of the production.
According to theater veteran Jerry Mitchell, the mastermind behind Kinky Boots and Gloria Estefan's On Your Feet!, the show won't be a biographical retelling of Brit's life - instead, her songs will inspire a unique storyline, similar to what Mamma Mia! has done with ABBA's famous hits. (Here's hoping we see at least one naughty school girl outfit, though.)
While we don't have an official debut date yet, sources say we can expect it as early as 2019. You may want to start camping out

Whitney came out in the 80's bro
:hmph:
an 80's artist from the 80's generation
if I was thinking like that this thread would be about Madonna instead of Britney silly lolz
and the peak of her popularity was in the 90s
so basically you lied when you said Britney was the biggest success you witnessed
She?s the biggest of her era that you witnessed
ok cool
she's STILL an 80's artist :uhh:
and bodyguard was in 1992 btw ...
:dead:
Whitney's MAJOR success was 80's and VERY early 90's
she's an 80's artist. and that's final.

lolz you lied

Just because you lived through an era doesn't mean you understood the impact of it all.
Kids living through the "Thriller" era probably didn't understand the numbers, records it broke and stats of it all until much later, but an era they probably WITNESSED and experienced was maybe the "Dangerous" era and probably consider that his biggest even though it was less successful

And Whitney wasn't the megaforce she used to be by the time Britney came out and started slaying.
Either way everything Bentley said is accurate.
Kudos to you for remembering The Bodygaurd era but that's really besides the point. And you probably only remember it because you grew up in a household where you family were big Whitney fans so you pretty much witnessed everything whether you had a choice or not.

they all understand Ray
you kinda don't tho cause you brought up Michael Jackson :kii:
.... I'm curious cause... you didn't witness the peak of his success either :uhh:
now ... if you would've said Janet and Mariah ... at least they came back for a round 2 in the 00's. Cool.
Brandy ... I witnessed her peak
Beyonce/Rihanna ... I can comprehend their slay.
..... but you didn't process the extent of Whitney or Michael's success.
you get it now?
I didn?t say I witnessed the PEAK Michael?s Success I said he was still huge and even bigger than Britney ever was during Dangerous era in the 90s
and the Bodyguard era is Whitney?s biggest success so I, and it seems like you witnessed it as well and you?re trying to deflect
s
ok ... that's fine but
I witnessed Britney score two Diamond albums back to back.
I witnessed the massive tour success
the songs all over the radio
the tv commercials
I even dressed up and did a cheer at a pep rally to a Britney song
I mean ... I witnessed her power
:uhh:
good for you I witnessed it too
I never disputed that

But he's never seen The Bodyguard.

although my mom loved Whitney
she was EVERYWHERE. You act like you couldn?t just turn on MTV or BET, VH1 etc and see IWALY, see her performing on the Grammys, AMAs etc
Or turn on the radio and any of the soundtrack songs would be playing. This is not some underground flop Whitney was HUGE

13.4 million on a soundtrack with movie attached after a 7 or 8 year career

12.2 million on a DEBUT
10.4 million on a year later follow-up

He didn?t say Britney was the biggest artist he ever understood was big
all of this is being added in after the fact
Whether he knew or not at the time of 2/3 years old he DID see an artist and era that was bigger than Britney?s
and so did I and Laz
so now what?
j
But he's never seen The Bodyguard.
And it doesn't matter if he lived through it if he doesn't remember it.....hence saying Britney was the biggest female success he's personally ever witnessed.
he didn?t have to see the movie
There was also a soundtrack that has sold like 30 million worldwide
and a song that stayed at #1 for 14 weeks
I didn?t buy BOMT or Oops but I knew they were huge
Bentley didn?t SAY he didn?t remember her why are y?all trying so hard to speak for him?
If he didn't even see the movie what makes you think he thought about a soundtrack?
Of course you remembered BOTM and Oops. You had to be at least 10 or 11 years old by then :kii:
Bentley did not PERSONALLY WITNESS the Bodyguard era as a child, and you keep trying to argue against that. You can't argue against HIS reality. Nigga
the SINGLES were all over the radio and TV? He didn?t HAVE to think about the soundtrack
He definitely witnessed the era stop trying to find excuses
:plzstop:
It doesn't matter how many of her songs were on radio if he wasn't listening to them.
The way the point is flying over your head.
:shannonsmissing:
it does because it?s not like he could PREDICT when it was gonna be played. He heard them and he just admitted to it lolz
Now YOU are wrong
:kii: :kii: :kii: :kii: :kii:
huh?
poor baby
We all live through things we aren't aware of. I'm sure there some type of big event happening that I'm not really paying attention to.
Don't really know where Ray was trying to go with that.
You can reminisce and relive something you don't remember or didn't personally experience/witness.
Where?s Rig?

I don't either.
Alot of us witnessed the birth of Britney's career and were old enough to remember it and everything she's done up til now so what Bentley says makes perfect sense.
Me neither, maybe Ray thinks that in someway it downplays her success :dead:
He doesn't understand LIVING through an era and experiencing it are two different things.
Bent is more likely to understand Britney's impact at 11/12 then Whitney's peak at 2/3 years old.
And he ain't the only one.
you don?t understand that that?s not even the discussion

Bent already said what I thought
it?s over Drais. You?re wrong lolz

No that?s not what I said. Remembering hearing the songs and ppl singing the songs is witnessing an era

Laz' did you realise how big of a STAR Whitney was back then?
Did you have a sense of how much she was selling?
Did you come to the conclusion at 6 years old she was the biggest star in the world?
I was pretty aware. My great aunt used to stay talking about her and sweating like a pig in concert. Tears!

!!!!!!
Growing up in a household being exposed to an artist is something totally different from willingly indulging yourself into someone's music. Coming home from school to watch the vidyas on TRL, watching award shows to see the performances, listening to the cassettes and cds, collecting posters outta magazines.
This brings me back to what Jayden was saying earlier about living through something versus actually experiencing it.
