It makes sense given the attention span of the general public and I?m sure it helps with streaming too. 7 amazing songs>13 with fillers..

Obviously but I mean it?s easier to reloop a 7 song album so most people would forget they?re listening to the same 7 songs.

I do think the 7 tracks hurt streaming numbers but u agree with Ye with getting rid of filler!

It makes it so simple to listen !

Nas has the best so far. Teyana?s will be a snooze for sure

Daytona is definitely the best thing from Wyoming and the critics agree! This Nasir is merely cute! I wont discuss hip-hop here though cause I doubt any of y'all will be able truly engage in it!

They?re barely making any money off of albums as it is so 7 song albums make perfect sense as long as artists release frequently/at least every year..

the artists that are releasing every year are doing so because the demand is there and all their albums have at least 10 tracks. How could artists, who haven't released music in years, satisfy anyone by releasing what would basically be an EP as an album? That's dumb.

Because the chances of the average person listening to an album past 7 songs are slim. If it doesn?t knock at first listen, people will give up. If it?s shorter, you?re more likely to give it a second/third/fourth listen..

We can't assume the average person is gonna be checking for artists that haven been on the music scene in years. Those artists need to focus on giving their fanbases quality, not jipping them in hopes of the masses catching wind of their short but sweet album. The current fans should be priority. Cause if they choose to not support or buy the 7-song album, who will?

That?s why they would need to release more frequently as well if they?re going to release 7 songs.

Actually Kanye had the second most streams per track in history

I think people ARE more inclined to listen to small albums more

Cause it's far from his best

I think the 7 song album is a Def Jam thing. I believe Toni's album was 7 or 8 songs too.

Toni got read for filth by all of us for her ep mess.

I?m sorry but 10 tracks is a minimum and even that I find kinda greedy.

It could work if every song was solid.
Sometimes short & sweet>>>

I agree but a lot of these "artists" aren't creative enough to give 10 straight undeniable songs. Michael Jackson and Beyonc? are the only ones I can currently think of. I didn't really use Bruno's album fully.

It is an ep in my eyes
I used to think 13 was already was not much..but I guess nowadays you can?t expect people to listen to 16 songs in a row. If there are 7 songs i need songs like Frank Ocean?s Pyramid or Erykah Out my mind ..at least one masterpiece over 8 minutes

People have such different tastes. I don?t thing you can cover all your fan base?s tastes with just 7 songs. Personally I like 20 track albums.

7-8 song albums used to be the norm in the 80's.

People will complain regardless if it's an 8 song album or a 18 song album so it doesn't even matter anymore. Get out there and make y'all own fucking albums then.
