They?re barely making any money off of albums as it is so 7 song albums make perfect sense as long as artists release frequently/at least every year..

the artists that are releasing every year are doing so because the demand is there and all their albums have at least 10 tracks. How could artists, who haven't released music in years, satisfy anyone by releasing what would basically be an EP as an album? That's dumb.

Because the chances of the average person listening to an album past 7 songs are slim. If it doesn?t knock at first listen, people will give up. If it?s shorter, you?re more likely to give it a second/third/fourth listen..
