Tank is a favorite among die-hard R&B fans, yet he still feels overlooked by many. The ?Star? singer took to social media recently to ask fans their thoughts on him switching up his sound to something more mainstream in hopes of broadening his overall appeal.
?I saw a comment the other day on one of my posts, that says, ?Tank does a lot of core R&B music, which is great, and it definitely appeals to that crowd ? he is the best at,? Tank says in the short clip. ?But I wish he would do more mainstream music so he could appeal and appreciated by a broader audience. A much bigger audience. I felt like I?m very underrated because I stick to my foundation. Should I branch out and try bigger music for a bigger audience??
The Jasmine Brand reports at least two pop stars responded to his inquiry, both encouraging the soulful crooner to make the transition.
Justin Timberlake let the DMV native know he?d be willing to collaborate, responding, ?Let?s get in the studio and do BOTH, big bro! Right after you get them groceries #HappyWife?
Jennifer Lopez also told the singer to, ?Do it!! Do It all!,? with Tank responding ?This means the universe to me. It all will be done.?
Do you think Tank should transition into pop?

NONE! Tank isn't a great artist or musician and that's why i dont so casually throw around overrated. Being a decent singer doesnt mean he should have the world at his feet. :dead:

Everyone isn?t meant to be a pop star, but l do feel like Tank makes good music. Some of his shit sounds better than a lot of the shit we call ?Male R&B? today. Not to mention, he?s written and produced hits for several R&B artists.
I just feel like he never gets his due. Don?t care what nobody say.

I think it?s slowly coming though. He?s gonna mess up if he tries pop music though. Even if he does BOTH ppl will ignore that and call him a sell out
I do think he should write for pop artists. It would definitely get him more money from behind the scenes. White ppl love SOUL from other white ppl

he really thinks is R&B fans ain't checking for him Pop fans will? lol
IDK why people act like Black people doing anything other than R&B is wrong though.
Like R&B isn't a requirement. If he wants to do pop music go for it, but if he's doing it cause he things Pop fans are more loyal than he's foolish.
that has nothing to do with it :dead:
