I know Aibileen. I know Minny. They?re my grandma. They?re my mom. And I know that if you do a movie where the whole premise is, I want to know what it feels like to work for white people and to bring up children in 1963, I want to hear how you really feel about it. I never heard that in the course of the movie.?
However, she said that she hopes to continue choosing roles that shine a positive light on women of color.

It wasn?t a cliche / Shame mess out.

She said there were things she was offered and was like meh. She didn't want to pursue The Help and threw the script in the trash. She also mentioned The Matrix too.

yea but i feel Viola in terms of the message. She?s saying it could have gone way more in depth telling their stories and what it was really like during that time. Seemed kinda surface level from the clips I?ve seen

I can understand what?s shes saying... but sis you have to look beyond the film itself and look at the opportunities and doors you and Octavio opened for other black women, that stemmed from this role. You all kinda started a MOVEMENT for women of color in Hollywood. It just ain?t always that fucking DEEP.
