My aunt had systemic lupus the worse form of it can cause systemic organ failure. As far as her outer appearance her hair did come out and sometimes she would get butterfly rashes but those were just flare ups.

There is no look to lupus. You can look completely normal and be sick as hell. As far as people plumping up that's a side effect of the steroids. There is really no reason to use them though in this day and age as their is a shit ton of biologics that work far bttr with less side effects.

For comparison see Nick Cannon, Toni Braxton, or Lady Gaga. All famous lupus survivors. Any person with any autoimmune disease. Should be vegetarians and exercise and if that's not possible at the very least eat non gmo unprocessed organic foods. That'll do wonders and get them to remission typically along with managing their stress.
