You guys do realise you may even have the mess but show light symptoms right
it's not a full blown out, cough, fever and bed rest :dead:
and you guys also realise this has gone unchecked since Jan, and it WILL continue until Spring 2021 and probably beyond and a Vax is not likely to be available for the next 6-12 months

I'm def not shivering somewhere in a corner about this either... still getting outside when I can and getting fresh air and ... living
But not throwing all caution to the wind. It's not just about me, but about my grandmother when I visit her. And the older people in my building whom I adore. One of them died last year and it broke my heart. She was the sweetest lil burrito
you shouldn't visit your grandma unless it's very necessary. Better to stay at a distance for now.

The UK for example is testing more than most countries, thus the spike in cases everyday

QuoteOn Friday, the UK government's chief science adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance, said on BBC Radio 4 that one of "the key things we need to do" is to "build up some kind of herd immunity so more people are immune to this disease and we reduce the transmission."
But on Sunday, Matt Hancock, the UK secretary of state for health and social care, stressed that achieving herd immunity to Covid-19 is not a stated policy. Instead, he said that "in the coming weeks," people over the age of 70 will be told to self-isolate. This stands in contrast with World Health Organization guidelines, which recommend that everyone, regardless of age, practice social distancing.
"What we will do is listen to all the credible scientists and we will look at all the evidence," he said. "Herd immunity is not our goal or policy, it's a scientific concept."

My company is working fully remote since today (I already started doing that last week though). Schools, clubs, bars, cinemas, gyms etc are closed. Also shortly all retail stores except for supermarkets, pharmacies, banks and gas stations are gonna close. Restaurants only from 6 am till 6 pm with max 30 people and a distance of 1.5 metres between seats. Also most of our borders are closed for unnecessary travel.
Basically you can't do shit anymore, gatherings of more than 50 people are also not allowed anymore (was going to see Tori Kelly next week...).
public life is basically shut down here already.

I get coronavirus, how sick will I get?

A large study in China found that about 80% of confirmed cases had fairly mild symptoms (defined as no significant infection in the lungs). About 15% had severe symptoms that caused significant shortness of breath, low blood oxygen or other lung problems, and fewer than 5% of cases were critical, featuring respiratory failure, septic shock or multiple organ problems. However, it is possible that a larger number of very mild cases are going under the radar, and so this breakdown in severity could change over time as wider screening takes place. Older people and those with respiratory problems, heart disease or diabetes are at greater risk.
What is the mortality rate of the new coronavirus?
It is probably about or a bit less than 1%. Much higher figures have been flying about, but the chief medical officer, Chris Whitty, is one of those who believes it will prove to be 1% or lower. The World Health Organization's director general, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, talked of 3.4%, but his figure was calculated by dividing the number of deaths by the number of officially confirmed cases. We know there are many more mild cases that do not get to hospital and are not being counted, which would bring the mortality rate significantly down.
Deaths are highest in the elderly, with very low rates among younger people, although medical staff who treat patients and get exposed to a lot of virus are thought to be more at risk. But even among the over-80s, 90% will recover.
I ain't getting shit .. fuck y'all

QuoteThe neuroinvasive potential of SARS‐CoV2 may be at least partially responsible for the respiratory failure of COVID‐19 patients - Increasing evidence shows that coronaviruses are not always confined to the respiratory tract and that they may also invade the central nervous system

Why is the WHO mortality rate of 3.4% being critizised? The 1% that's mentioned here is merely based on assumptions of how many people are not registered as infected.

yea ...i'm glad you said it first
cause i mean it sounds bad, but I'm kinda underwhelmed tbh
and yikes! is that infected .... or death tolls ... ?
Now ... if you want a REAL pandemic, then I need the infected to be closer to 1 bil and the death toll ... I dunno ... somewhere in the ballpark of 50 mil to start? that's at least 16th of the population.
it's kind of getting annoying ... the news is really stale,
closing borders .... just in case!, just tell everybody to stay put and hush about it :plzstop:
there's really no excitement, I dunno ... guess I'm expecting to turn on the news and see a gas truck driver spontaneously catch it .... and run into a factory with a big explosion and huge power outage.
Yea the stores were full, but tbh, black friday actually has fist fights, not an empty toilet paper aisle :dead:
I just .... want .... something a little more ... newsworthy to stay tuned into this boring mess.

i'd rather not get it. we don't even know if there will be any longterm effects but a pneumonia will defenitely leave the lungs somewhat damaged.
maybe some charred lungs can help your singing :ermm:

And I'm fighting the urge to go in there and ram shack the cabinet while sitting here
And the shit hasn't officially started yet :plzstop:
