Did you watch the video?
False arrest
He was DRUNk while operating a vehicle
Doesn't matter if it was parked
So the officer was right to perform an arrest
It is the law I didn't write it
What happened after that was a mess and I said that
Though Rashard resisted arrest the officer was also wrong using lethal force to apprehend the criminal
There was wrong on both sides
And

QuoteDriving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is illegal in every state. But what if you get caught drunk behind the wheel of a parked car? It surprises many drivers (especially those who pull over to "sleep it off") to learn that the DUI laws of most states also prohibit drivers from "operating" or being in "actual physical control" of a car while under the influence. In other words, you can get a DUI without actually driving.

The man was running in the other direction and posed no imminent threat to either cop, there was really no reason to take his life.
But most of these cops are trigger happy, out of shape and don't know how to properly de-escalate a situation, so this kind of incompetence is inevitable.

the bottom line is that this should not have ended with him losing his life
even if he woulda got away from them, they had his fucking car :omf: get it towed, impounded, or whatever.
make him pay for his crime that way. inconvenience him. then arrest him at his home or something...am mean, i'm assuming there was a whole license plate number and registration attached to his mess.
he should not have died.
It was such a shit show to watch
All that heavy breathing and out of breath mess
Giving every bit of

i see what he means
but in a way it's good there's some sort of expectation that u wont resist arrest...
if everyone felt it was OK to resist, some may take it as "its ok to fight the police", etc.
and we'd be seeing these shootings even more than we have already
but i dont blame any black man for being petrified of being detained/taken away by white officers
there's a distrust in the community that is completely justified
!!!!!! I'd personally just allow myself to be arrested and pray all the way back to the station if I'm lucky enough to make it there alive  and then pray they don't kill me like they did Sandra Bland and so many others whilst being in custody at the station smh
But like you said, i can see why someone's first reaction is to push back a bit and get a full explanation of why they're being arrested. It's terrifying to watch, so i can only imagine what it's like to be there and in the moment. Terrifying is an understatement
Also, it's not resisting if the reason you're being arrested is unlawful to begin with. Most of these officers feel they have unfettered powers to do as they please.
See ... this is that bullshit:

Anyone have a rebuttal for this??
I tried to watch the video in the OP all the way through, but i couldn't
Rayshard sounded as if he was willing to do whatever they wanted as long as they wouldn't arrest him. Said his daughter's birthday was just the night before smh he was practically pleading with them. I had to cut it off after that

i think the only way to really say how we'd respond is by being in the situation
so i can't judge anyone who tries to run or get away...
Literally been in this same exact situation
Had 2 long islands, thought I was good good got half down the street and pulled my ass over in a parking lot and fell asleep then I heard a knock on the window.
Explained the mess and was honest about how many drinks I had and the situation and they drove me to my apartment.
So yeah am judging
:disgusted:

shouldn't you be judging the cops then because they couldn't give him the common decency like what those cops did for you and decided to shoot him in his back instead :disgusted:
