As previously reported, BET bills the series as ?a quest to find the next big female superstar group to make their mark in the dog-eat-dog music industry.? The singing hopefuls ?will vie their way to stardom with recording mogul Rowland helping them to find their voice as entertainers.?
Riding shotgun on the series is industry veteran Gatson, who assists Rowland in her quest and will serve as the group?s choreographer. He also served, perhaps unwittingly, as the comic relief for the?Chasing Destiny? panel.
Gatson has been the creative director for both Beyonce and Destiny?s Child, and has choreographed videos and live performances for the likes of Rowland, Michael Jackson, TLC, Jennifer Lopez, Toni Braxton, and most notably, En Vogue.
Here?s Gatson Wednesday on En Vogue being better singers than Destiny?s Child:
?I always thought En Vogue can sing better than Destiny?s Child. [Kelly] doesn?t agree. Those four girls all were lead singers. In Destiny?s Child, they were all lead singers, too, but in En Vogue, they were just amazing because they were put together organically, and I think that?s the thing that?s going to happen with this show.?
?Well, Destiny?s Child was put together organically as well,? Kelly said.
?Okay. You?re right. She?s right,? said Gatson. ?I worked with Destiny?s Child, but it?s just one of those things. You don?t want to say who is best and who is not better. I am really upset at En Vogue right now because I was going to get wooden floors with en Vogue, and they broke up, and it pissed me off. So now with Destiny?s Child, I?m so glad. They?re the type of group that never broke up. They?re the type of group that are sisters, they?re friends, they?re professional, and they?re nice. And that?s why they make so much f**king money. You understand? Because a lot of people think that show business is about being an A hole. It?s not. It?s about being sweet. And when you?re sweet, you can last. You understand? Patti LaBelle, that?s a really nice lady. Beyonc?, come on. There?s a reason she?s big. There?s a reason that Kelly thank you, Kelly, for allowing me to be on this damn show.?
The entire panel consisted of Gatson saying something out of pocket, and Rowland trying to clean it up ? considering they were in front a bunch of tweeting journalists.
Below, Kelly is asked how her Destiny?s Child cohorts were able to stay so close after their breakup?and Gatson jumping in with his random thought about original Destiny?s Child members LaTavia and LeToya, and how the syncing of women?s menstrual cycles within girl groups is ?magical?:

Kelly was not really here for Frankisa on this panel.

Girl groups are done. Even if she finds a good group they'll find it really hard to compete with the current crop of artists.

Somebody fire the ungrateful nigga :uhh:
Envogue does sing better
Yeah, En Vogue were better singers than DC4...
Did he lie?
why is he shading 'fas like this :dead:
Collectively, yeah. But I think DC had better voices individually. Weird.
He ain't have to shade Kelly on her own show though
at a public press event
n
En Vogue had better voices collectively and individually. You could always identify who was singing.

Seems to me like he was shading Kelly with Kelly sitting right there and with her being the whole reason he's a part of the interview. He said "Well EV were ALL lead singers." Then he tried to clean it up.
he's right ... no girl sang better than the other in Envogue, Beyonce sounds better as Destiny's Child than Destiny's child the group, and Bey is the only one he believes in.
Um well DUH frank
Then why be a part of the show when you don't believe in Kelly's talent? Frank Gatson is shady. I didn't 't know he was like that.
Its true
En vogue could outsing any DC member except Beyonce.
Arguably en vogue is one of the best female groups vocally.

(The one that does the bridge on dont let go)
Her voice was k8nda annoyin but stood out and she could sing

its the opposite imo. individually each girl can kinda blasts a DC member but collectively I'll take the blending of DC3 over any version of En Vogue.
Funny thing is their group was put together. They could sing and harmonize better than any girl group.

I said what I said :plea:
En Vogue collectively & individually had and still have better voices. Their harmony is still in tact til this day. No other girl group had better harmony than them.
bccvvvvvvvv "you see why Bey is so big l, and Kelly .... Ummm ... well ... thanks for having me on the show lol"!
:plzstop:
Wtf
Beyonce outsing all them b*tches. BUT Kelly Row, Toya and Tavia kinda make his statement true.
He may be right, but that was just so unnecessary to compare these groups. And why even bring up LaTavia and LeToya? What a messy fag. :omgwatshappening:

Frank comparing and bringing up En Vogue to Destiny's Child was totally disrespectful and unnecessary, especially with Kelly sitting right there. If he was bringing up the numerous girl groups to explain what made them who likeable, successful and different from the others, that would have made perfect sense because that's what the premise of the show is (if I'm reading correctly.) That's totally messy, but guess what.... he has people talking... smh. Bad publicity is still publicity at the end of the day.
Now as far as the subject at hand. If we are comparing En Vogue to DC4, as far as lead vocals, I believe Kelly and Beyonc? are more skilled vocalists than any member of En Vogue and I am a huge fan of En Vogue. The harmonies, blend, and creativity of En Vogue was better than DC4, in my opinion. I even believe that Michelle is even a better vocalist than the members of En Vogue... again this is lead singing. What made En Vogue was the overall package.

No, En Vouge was really better individually and together, vocally. But they were one of the best female vocal groups, so it's not really an insult.
However, Frank is being purposely messy. I wouldn't hire him for anything else if I were Kelly.
Letoya and Kelly would definetly get slaughtered by any evn vogue member, period :dead:
Only Bey and Michelle could hold their own
En Vogue collectively & individually >>>>> DC3 DC4
Destiny's Child except LaTavia & Farrah definitely has better soloists
En Vogue can have the harmonies
Always loved Frank. Love that man.

interesting that en vogue is the better group vocally but none of them individually can hold a candle to beyonce or kelly vocally
but neither of them would have had solo careers were it not for Destiny'd Child.

En Vouge was big when I was very young. I didn't realize how fierce they were. I love how they posed with their hands in front of their faces, then snatched it down and strutted across the stage, then turned around, then took off their coats revealing tight black dresses. lol
