None of these girls really have a ear for iconic urban/pop hits like Brit could....for crying out loud Normani worked with Max Martin on Motivation and she dropped the ball :dead: I don't think anyone will fill that Brit void anytime soon

What I see for Normani and even Teyanna is something like what Aaliyah did. Give us a knocking beat, a lil vocal, and a great dance routine. It's a simple formula.
The reason Motivation flopped is because we heard it 10 years ago ala Check on it.
Normani just needs a crossover hit. A multi format hit. A song like Rihanna's Work or Whats My Name that can be played on Pop, Rhythmic and Urban radio. Motivation was not that girl.
The introduction of her solo work to the world was extremely misguided and all over the place. Sis put out Checklist and Slow Down, then Waves, then Motivation. 4 completely different sounds - she needs to pick a style and run with it. As a debut artist, u gotta do that. Experimenting and doing diff things comes later when ur alrdy established, imo.
