The movie is literally just the trailer  STRETCHED into 2 hours. Jordan Peele's writing is so lazy to me... I'm so sick of this era of viewers having to create the flicks and make sense of everything ourselves because the actual film gave us NOTHING.

Like I'm sitting here cackling at all these "edgy" explanations of the film. This game of metaphors is so late. Some of the correlations, I'm like ok cool... but nothing about this film was that deep. People are forcing these correlations and synopsizes out of NOTHING.

And I unfortunately get why he does this. People just wanna feel edgy and smart, so he buys into that. It's lazy.

And this was by FAR much worse than "Us". "Us" wasn't a terrible film, it was just extremely overhyped. Like others said, people just made it more than what it was. But at LEAST mess was actually HAPPENING.



My issue with "Us" was that he focused so much on building metaphors that he left so many plot holes and unanswered issues in the actual story. Things just weren't adding up and checking out. Nigger, just focus on writing on a solid STORY and leave the symbolism for English COMP.
