Quote from: RAY7 on June 08, 2023, 07:42:06 PMYea this isn't about Claire being articulate, Keke is very articulate herself. I think it's more about her voice and mannerisms and just the context of the show with her being upper middle class and a lawyer. She just had a bourgeois type personality that Keke felt was fake and it technically was
'Moon included "mannerisms " guys.

I think the context of him using  "articulate" in this topic was not limited to words alone

but more so to include the language of their body, aura, etc.

the way someone presents themselves in general.

QuoteThat a black person pretty much has to articulate themselves in a certain way in their speech, mannerisms to be considered "REAL"?

i just think keke take on the character was dumb cuz bougie or uppity is more about an ATTITUDE than mannerisms & tone of voice.  and claire didn't posses that attitude or characteristic.

and i think it's a big discourse because the character seems so close to who phylisha rashad is in real life, so come ppl are taking it as shade although i don't think keke meant it that way

but hey, if the barbs can YAP away all day abt nothing, let these gors too

She was just talking and saying it all in jest but still there was some truth to it. The character was bougie.. The girls are taking it too far as usual

I never liked the Cosby show so I don't care. I mean, even if she was talking about aunt Viv (from a show I actually like) I still would find the truth in the joke. Not sure why the girls are butthurt over this.
Ketanji Jackson has come this far by faith.

Ketanji Brown will still beatcho ass.

I wonder if another character was referenced and someone referred to them as a "ghetto" in a negative connotation would the tolerance be the same?

Claire was a lawyer, and lawyers are known for using their words.  Of course her character would be verbose and would debate her point as if she were in a court room.  It made sense for her to be that way.
