But still respected that they come from a different place . And that's ok.
Hood/"Urban" is just one version of Blackness.
And reducing Blackness to just that one version and using it as some sort of barometer of "realness" is not right at all.
It's kinda offensive . And this is coming from someone who's actually from the hood and doesn't hide it.
That's why I love Tyler Perry. If you look closely at his work - especially his movies ... he makes sure all types of Black peoples are represented .
The loud ratchet gorl, the CEO, the lawyer , the bougie ghetto fabulous gorl who don't know she's ghetto ...

People zoom in on the loudest characters of course but i think he does a good job of mixing it up. It's very realistic in that sense .
We are all still Black. Just with different experiences and backgrounds
