I think he means in the style of Brandy. I don't think Solange was necessarily singing in the "style of Beyonce", whatever that was at the time. Solange was never slighted for "trying to do Beyonce", they just unfairly gave her a lot because she wasn't as good as Beyonce, being her sister and all.

ARTISTRY WISE I WOULD HAVE TO SAY SOLANGE. SHE HAS ALWAYS BEEN LIGHT YEARS MORE CREATIVE THAN BEYONCE IN CREATING MUSIC FROM THE GROUND UP. SHE DOESN'T NEED AN ENTIRE MACHINE OF 12000 EMPLOYEES TO BE "SOLANGE". BEYONCE IS THE BETTER SINGER FOR SURE BUT SHE DEFINITELY NEEDS A VILLAGE. BUT AT THE SAME TIME SOLANGES LANE ISNT "POP STAR" AND BEYONCE LANE IS.

BUT YEAH OVER ALL ARTIST...SOLANGE FOR THE WIN!  :scrumptious:
