we couldnt say certain words that aren't really profanity: Nigga, Lie, Fart
my grandmother would always say not to lay down with my hands behind my head
something about the devil, and weirdly I still dont ever lay like that 16 yrs after she passed

I know some people couldn't say lie (they had to say "tell a story").

We couldn't say anything close to a cuss word, like dang or heck.

Never mind that all the adults in my family cuss like sailors.

I pretty much could do whatever I wanted but there was a time where my mom prohibited us from watching videos ... We still snuck and did it anyway! Then my mom forbid me to watch Moesha when they started with the really big topics dealing with sex and date rape and stuff and this had me pissed so I had my friend tape it and I?d watch when I went over there    I wasn?t having my mother come between me and Bran but other than that no restrictions
