A lot of those people wear that "right to bear arms" mess on their sleeves.
The only other real life option other than arming teachers is going against the damn constitution and petitioning to remove guns from people's houses so kids will not have access.
Is that really the only other real life option?! So there is no option for armed security / police officers at schools? That would be difficult to fund, but at least we wouldn't have to have to put guns in the hands of people working with children.
There's no option for metal detectors. They already have them in some schools. They can put them in all schools.
The only solution is to arm teachers? That could create more problems than it solves.
