I never understood why Chrisette got canceled, while other artists who openly supported Trump (I don't recall her actually supporting him) received little to no backlash. Even the popular gospel artist she performed with slid by unscathed.

People who never supported Chrisette in the first place canceled her.

Chrisette was on some bullshit though. When she said people didnt cancel Obama and he was there at the inauguration, that was the last straw for me. Remember she also used some picture of google images and posted it as her miscarriage? And then the doubling down on what she did and Tina Campbell getting involved. She did a lot. And performing at the inauguration I guess was a big deal since so many other black artists turned him down. Even the ones who said yes eventually caught heat and pulled out. She didn't.
