im a little .... i dunno...about these statues
it's one thing to completely disregard his past (robbing pregnant women at gunpoint, etc) for the sake of prosecuting and punishing the cop who killed him - which is the RIGHT thing to do because his past had nothing to do with what the MURDER i clearly saw take place in that video....
but to erect statues as if he were some hero or something ...someone to look up to and aspire to be....
i kinda like this one though because it has a clear, specific message against police brutality
using GODpoose lyrics
and simply uses george floyd's face/name to deliver the message. that's different IMO.
and i guess one could argue that ALL of these statues aren't honoring George's life legacy directly or making him a saint, but instead sending a message out that BLM.
