Kenya's mom doesn't speak to Kenya because she had Kenya young. Kenya's mom's dad didn't approve of illegitimate children so, Kenya's mom disowned Kenya to please her parents

What I dont get though is why after she reached adulthood why Kenya's mom still refuses to talk with her. I can understand as a teen, but Kenya's mom is about 60 damn years old. They're both fully grown. Maybe she's embarrassed and feels like she made a big mistake and doesn't want to face reality? Who knows. Maybe Lori will shed some light on it next episode as to why it was such a big deal for Kenya to make another attempt to reach out to her.
