not bad for a new show on BET. I wasn't expecting a jaw dropping book but it did good overall. They definitely have to beef it up next season without a doubt.
Now that the season is OVER... i could look at the entire picture. My thoughts:
1.) Gemini isn't believable as a boxer...AT ALL. Even lightweights got a little chest and stuff.
2.) Laugh track needs to either GO or they need to pull it back some. Not every joke needs the track.
3.) More special guests. Jordin and India were cute but let's step it up a bit. Cosmetics mogul? So many guest features that can be incorporated.
4.) SLOW DOWN...i feel like a lot of the writing was rushed. Some scenes could use a little more elaboration without taking up more time. Quality vs. Quantity i guess. A nice "to be continued.." to keep people at the edge of their seats would've been nice sometimes.
5.) the ending of the season was obvious. It was obvious the build up was Rico Suave and Zoe having a "moment".
6.) Less focus on Gemini and his antics, more focus on the "cosmetics mogul" part. Put in a bitch that's trying to take Zoe's place who has her own cosmetics line. Or have Gemini find a new chick that's trying to step on Zoe's toes and is starting to take over as "mom" to their son.
7.) The sex appeal needs to be pushed up a notch. If you're going to have a show this late, give people something to look forward to. Eye candy still wins in 2016 (i.e. havs and have nots). People watch just to see sexy men and sexy females. This ties back to Gemini...he's not sexy. Period.
8.) Ghan needs to incorporate her music more. Drop songs on itunes after each episode. Sort of like what they do for the voice or even during "Catfish". Each commerical or just about almost every commercial, they put a feature of a song that was played during the show.
9.) Follow through with the YouTube page messs they started. How many times have they done those make up tutorials they talked about?
10.) Flow. Overall flow just needs to be better.
Everything else I loved. Zoe's looks were on point. Cast is great (except for Gemini). The filmography, the direction, it all is good. Just needs some tweaking.
I want season 2!
