What kind of puppy?

:howfestive:
Chinese Shar Pei. It'll be my second. :howfestive:

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated that only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants exist worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

Not sure if you're talking about me and not sure why you're so pumped up about the subject. But if you are referring to me, my questions were genuine and so was my response. There's a lot of mixed messages about the vaccine and what it does. To my knowledge even President Biden misspoke about the vaccine giving you full immunity from getting Covid and he was fact checked. So my questions were genuine.

no need to vaccine shame people.

your body. Your rules. Do what you want to do and what you're comfortable with. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Second dose next week! I was low energy after the first one but I'm so ready to get rid of the fear of covid and the masks, not being able to travel :freewilly:

I guess I'm still just not understanding which is why I haven't gotten vaccinated yet.

if the vaccine doesn't make you immune to the virus, is it all just reducing the intensity of symptoms if you do get the virus? That's it, right?

It's really quite simple, so I'm assuming you just don't want to get it.

You get a small dose so your body will create antibodies as a defense. You don't know if you are fully immune to the virus but there's less chance you will get the virus..and if you do get it the effects will be less serious. So it's good to get the small harmless dose so your body is more protected against the big one that's out there killing people and causing serious problems such as no taste & exhaustion.

Plus if you want to travel you probably need a vaccine or you'll have to get tested before or during your stay (uncomfortable, could cost money, not practical)..or they could ask you to stay in lockdown when you enter a country (for example for 14 days). Also in the future I'm sure some concert venues will ask people to have proof of vaccines.

So yeah everybody can make their own decision but if you get the opportunity to get one i would really recommend it. It's better for your health and with more vaccines we can try to get back to doing the fun things we used to do. And most importantly don't die or suffer from long covid.
