At the 1:43:00 mark, Dawn doesnt go into detail but she just says Diddy wanted Brandy to be his group member. Dawn and K were both writing songs and recording demos at the time, just to keep working. At 1:45:00, Dawn says Diddy called them after Brandy turned Diddy down, because she didn't want to be in a group. Interesting.
