I was just about to ask about that. Idk anyone whose seen it. Did it do well opening weekend... I feel like it's been rather quiet.

I know some people that have seen it and said she did good. I have one friend that saw it TWICE! I'm going to the movies tonight and was gonna see it but boo wants to see dont breath 2, so that's what we're seeing

I'D MUCH rather hear fantasia on the track. Jennifer Hudson doesnt even have an interesting voice tbh. Aretha's voice had CHARACTER. Idky they insisted on letting this girl sing smh

I saw the movie it wasn't good and she had Aretha mannerisms down but that's about it. Marlon was horrible. Foster was great as always, Mary was funny as Dinah. The movie stops at amazing grace album. the tv miniseries was better imo.

Yeah the Genius series SHAT! I figured it would be better than the movie. I mean everyone played theee fuck out of their roles. 

It was always going to be impossible to fit Aretha's life into a movie. Even the 8 hour mini series couldn't fit everything in.

Aretha was extremely private about her life... to the point where she was a little delusional. 
The movie (and series) woulda been HUGE if her actual story was told, but queen was from a different generation.

She's a good singer just not for me. A much better actress. I wouldn't pay to see her but if I saw someone singing like her at a jazz club or open mic I'd go up!
