Living in Chicago I loved it. Saw it twice. Cabrini Green is still there today and it's amazing to go there and see a Starbucks literally right across the st from the entrance to what's left of those projects. There is so much I liked about the movie. The cinematography, the music, the performances, ESPECIALLY by someone who returns from the first movie. Go see this.

Also this is the first #1 movie directed by a black woman. And mannnn did she direct the fuck out of this. Nia DaCosta is definitely someone to look out for.

RedOctober

It's more of an origins story. I think they could've pushed the envelope a bit more, and the ending was a little left field. Yaya can do no wrong and the scenes of him in his briefs was well worth the $15 movie ticket.

It is gory. I don't know what those people expected. It's not the next installment in the Saw franchise or Evil Dead. I mean a girl gets torn open and the blood pours out of her but I guess that's not gory enough?

Lots of people are just hard to please because all they do is look back and forth between their phone and the movies they watch, thus never really being able to take in a film or appreciate it but for the "big parts".

Nice gowns, pretty gowns lol.

Its beautifully directed.  Good music and great acting. Nia is very artistic i would like to see her do more thrillers and horror.
Im still not sure if i liked it tbh. I went to see it with a small group and we all had mixed reviews.
Its not a bad film per say, but its not scary at all. It was too much telling me instead of showing me. Lots of call backs to the original even though they wasted the returns imo. The amount of time they spent on brianna father needed to be given to Anthony mother and explain why he didnt wanna talk to her. Tbe film is slow and ended too soon if that makes sense i needed maybe 20 more mins. Colman Domingo stole the show but his character did something that got me scratching my head.

Imma let it slide because some of the stuff plays into the history of this film. But why does every movie gotta have message and be woke? Some stuff they beat me over the head with it? Less is always more imo. Whats wrong with a good old fashioned slasher?
IDK, Robyn's Back!!!🥂

Yeah.

It's very "artsy"

Wasn't really scary.

And I was kinda bored.
