I'm still curious about the "B7" mastering. Like Brandy's ear is too detailed to have some those songs sound like they were mixtape-ish. :uhh: That really concerned me especially an artist of her caliber. The album ain't bad. It's most certainly grown on me but that mastering shit was a huge factor as to why I could not get in when the project dropped. I pray that the next project is mastered differently.
You should give it another listen. The engineer behind is grammy award winning for a reason

There's nothing wrong with it IMO.  You're just used to that super polished sound but Brandy is VERY intentional. Her ear isn't the issue IMO, it's exactly the way she wanted and everyone around her agreed. It's mixed like an Indi album, but i wouldnt get that confused with "Mixtape". The backgrounds are as present as the leads for the first time in her career and i LOVE that shit.

Listen to it on Tidal or Apple. It's fucking AMAZING  :kii:   give it another chance man. I had a problem with a couple songs at first but completely understand now.

if you don't like it --- totally understood. I'd never judge you for it -- but questioning her ear? LOL nah
IDK, Robyn's Back!!!🥂

Really love the album and the themes. It was a very courageous move for her to spotlight of mental illness and to toy with it. My only gripe has always been the lack of variety in the sounds, too many of the beats sound too similar at times.

Context is everything. I've grown to really love and appreciate the album especially her being able to share her story how she wanted to share it. It wasn't clear for me as a listener and a fan if the mixing was a creative choice or some overlooked detail. Again, it's a beautiful album. Not my favorite Brandy project, but I've grown to appreciate it more and more especially the former part of the album.
B7 had its flaws, but the brilliant moments balanced it out. I have a lot of theories about this album and how it was conceptualized and produced, but it doesn't matter at this point.

It's not among her best, but there are some amazing moments that I cherish because it showed her growth, and it is her most vulnerable and personal album to date. I felt like I really understood Brandy for the first time.

I think my faves in terms of production are Saving all my Love, say something, Unconditional, Borderline and I am More

No tomorrow is my shit but i wanted it to knock harder during certain moments like the live version and have a bit more nuance. She did tf outta that vocally tho! And i love her writing on it

This performance of it is my fave (vocally)

Fucking ****

:gorlonfire:

b7

Wait i forgot Rather be and Lucid dreams
Ssmndndndn

Yea Camper did his fuckin thing along with the Co producers. No doubt about it in my mind.

The beat changes and that portal opening on "Rather be" reminds me of thought you said with Diddy toward the end

:plzstop:

Fucking AMAZING  :uhh:

Stan! Sounds like he wants to remix it? I LOVE this song and the original production but I'm excited to see what he does with it if so. I'm sure the girls can't wait to compare  :dead: I'll be enjoying both

Brandy's shit always tends to reverse and smack you in the fucking face when you least expect it. So many people who skimmed through b7 and trashed it at first listen are gonna be lashed sooner or later.  :supluv:
