Chlöe had the best performance of the night. She is coming into her own and as her first true solo performance, she killed it. She has things to work on and work through but that's the beauty of watching a star being made. Beyonce didn't come out knowing it all or having it all together with DIL era. It took time to figure it out and get it together.

I respect that chlöe stands on her own two feet. Normani always needs assistance from another artist, even though it was adorable for ciara to be there and introduce her, it came off like she needed that enforcement. Just like the Teyana moment and Janet interpolation, it's always some HELP that she needs to produce anything.
Chloe has Beyoncé backing her so how is that standing on her own two feet?

the only reason people INSTANTLY used, tbh (chloe x halle)

now the girls are talented, so i have no doubt they would have made a splash eventually. but lets not act like they weren't ushered into the big time by the most influential musical fairy god mother you could ever ask for. to suggest she isnt still making things happen for this girl is insane

She's her manager ... if she isn't making things happen then we'd want her fired.
You don't know what you're talking about. People know both Halle and Chlöe because they are a group with moderate success.
People know Normani because of her success with her group.

One is managed by Beyoncé and signed to them; what does that have to do with Normani needing the entire industry to produce anything?

Where are Chloe's major features? Assisted songs? Who introduced her last night?
Please don't be dumb in here. I'm tired of seeing you make a fool of yourself in every thread.

She's signed to Beyoncé's label and is partly managed by her. What have you witnessed from Beyoncé that's tangible in connection with Chlöe?

She's yet to post "HM". She wasn't at her show introducing her. She isn't on any of her records. This is Chloe's first single and it isn't featured by any of the large artist that could've been attached to it.

You don't get the difference?
It helps having someone like Beyonce behind the scenes to get gigs booked and swing favours your way.
Linking up with big producers, big budget video's, performances etc etc
Look at what happned with Halle and Disney
you think she would've gotten that role without Beyonce and her deal with Disney?

How is that comparative to Normani having every major artist featured on all of her singles but one?
How is that comparative to Normani being propped up by the entire industry?
How is that comparative to Normani using her happenings in her life to garner pity and support?

Chlöe is managed by Beyoncé, so what. And if Beyoncé is speaking with major shows to book an artist she manages on their stage...then she's doing her job.
:dead:

I know you're addicted to dark skin people but don't let that obsession warp your ability to think, please.

And being honest..... all stanning aside, can Normani even turn Wild Side around at this point? If they were waiting for the VMAS to kickstart promo, why didnt she just release the mess right before the show like Chloe?
!!

It just doesn't make sense. She continuously puts her eggs in one basket. The VMAs are cute for exposure but they don't really certify success.

Exactly!!

And will she ever sing this song live?
We knows she is a talented dancer, but can she actually pull off a great live singing performance?

I love "Wild Side" but to me she is just a studio artist so far.

At least the song is doing well at the Urban charts and it peaked high on the Hot 100.

Everyone knows Chloe is associated with Beyoncé. You are being obtuse if you think her connections haven't gotten Chloe to this point. She wouldn't even be booking the VMA stage were it not for Bey.

Tangible? Tina was in her video. Yvette is also Chloe's publicist. They are also signed to freaking Parkwood lol

Ciara introducing Normani doesn't give her nearly the boost Beyoncé gives Chloe. You sound biased.

Let's discuss Normani's efforts:

-first single with Khalid
-second single with Sam Smith
-third with Calvin Harris
-support and rallying of all the R&B artist and key figures in the industry to prop her up as the "new black girl"...
-her entire brand is warped in tragedy of some sort to garner public pity and support (colorism claims, racism abuse from Camilla, dark skin complex, mother with "cancer" (twice), tuberculosis allegedly, label sabotage, delays from Cardi, song being snatched off Apple Music for 30 mins-hour)
-now Cardi featured single that Cardi promoted more than her
-vma claims that she wasn't booked
-teyana assisted vma moment, Ciara introduction, Janet references

Normani is the most handicapped artist I've ever witnessed.

!!!!

like wat is she finna do nows?
will she b smart nd driven...

No, she lacks an imagination and the ability to push herself to her greatest length.
She could've funded a self filmed performance of Wild Side and posted it for her fans but instead she sat on Twitter crying about not being booked for the VMAs and retweeting fans saying her label was sabotaging her.

When the pandemic was at its greatest heights, Chlöe performed with her sister in their tennis court - even when it wasn't a nationally televised moment. And she covered a dozen records on her social media page to garner public interest, not public pity.

Like Trey said, we know who will end up on top.

So, her manager and label head isn't supposed to be working for her? There's someone being obtuse here and it isn't me.

You really don't understand the difference between a manager managing versus being boasted by every major artist in both features and support?

:dead:
I've literally supported everything Normani up until the point of her handling of her latest single. It's very apparent what kind of artist she is. She has an inflated idea of her talent, abilities and success.
