this ending scene ...
all these black gays on the VMA stage doing wtf they wanna do

being sexually expressive. falling into a "sea" of one another. caressing each other.

we've seen this done a million times before on stages and in music videos - just not with THIS group of people.

im here for it
!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fucking loved it

it's not completely unheard of for new artists to have a period of time where they're figuring themselves out.

GHan didn't immediately step into her own signature style. for a while she def modeled herself as the "bvy whitney"

mariah was modeled after whitney until she really began stepping into her own signature style with all her super girly album titles, rainbow colors, hip hop infused teas, etc

its very rare for an artist to just come owt the gate just having complete clarity on their own artistic identity.
chloe is over there copying fas for now but soon she'll step more into her own mess as well.

i'd say give them one album or two before we say they'll never figure out who they are.
THIS!

No one comes out immediately polished and 100% sure of who they are and even if they are (Aaliyah is the greatest example) they still evolve over time if they're as great as we think they are. Aaliyah constantly developed and evolved.

Gotta give these girls a chance to do the same, although I'm not comparing them to the most exalted one of course

:blessed:

Janet wasn't "Janet" till the third album, Tina didn't get a hit till her 5th album
it takes time
