She may be bitter, but Will is one of the most overrated one-dimensional actors of the last 20 years.

And I do not see them frequenting all of the black awards shows. But I do side with Jada with the entire stop begging for acceptance thing. It's kind of like the charts, some blacks feel if you don't top the Hot 100 or win an Oscar, then you aren't worthy. Some blacks act as though the Soul Train, NAACP, BET awards, etc. are beneath them. I don't understand why we are so brainwashed with this slave mentality "If massa don't accepts us, we's never gonna gets our freedoms."

Something that praises great performances and nominates everyone!
A show that's not bias..
Even if it's Meryl, cicely, Sydney and someone like Anthony Hopkins
Come tgether and make a real mess.. An unbiased Academy of sorts

I agree that certain award shows leave a lot to be desired. But it's still the only stage that some of the best and brightest black/urban stars can get on.

I love the BET Awards, The Soul Tran Awards, and especially the NAACP Awards.  They reward us, and it's more enjoyable for me to see people from shows I actually watch and care about.  The NAACP Awards is always really classy and well put together.  And The Soul Train Awards is the only place I ever see real r&b still being rewarded...


It's kind of up to us to value our own shows.
