I don't think Wendy told the whole story in that lifetime movie. She definitely downplayed all the abuse. In the documentary you could see how her team was affected by his presence. They knew exactly what was going on. I think that's also why that team seems so concerned with her well-being, they are very protective over her because they have witnessed his influence.
