But then there is also "life imitating art".
Foxy is essentially not in the spotlight. Some may consider her a "has been" - which she is not. And so it just seems like a cheap shot.

The scripted line was unnecessary, IMO. If it was a scripted line about Brandy, I would feel annoyed by it.
So it's whatever at this point.

I see your point of view. While you and I both understand that it's scripted and she's acting, it's still peculiar and she's still Brandy doing the acting. Considering our knowledge of their past especially when they could have written anybody else's name into the script. So unless they ran it by Foxy or she's about to make an appearance..... I can see how someone who wants to take it that way, would take it that way. Personally, I know it's harmless but I get it.

The fact that it caught you off guard - means it was a cheap shot.
And the fact that bran/foxy has history did not help.

But Bran is a grown woman - and we have no idea what else they are saying in later episodes. But they can't get mad at any backlash.
