The scripted line was unnecessary, IMO. If it was a scripted line about Brandy, I would feel annoyed by it.

it's in the storyline that Brandy's character NAOMI fought Foxy for kissing and sleeping with Ja rule, Ralf. Ja Rule used to be with Brianna and  it's tied to the storyline from the pilot. Either Naomi did it or helped Brianna, i can't remember.

Not a joke about Foxy's career literally ending in REAL life. That's the difference between what you and Hazel are saying.  That wasn't a joke about the real Foxy brown but the Foxy in their fictional world. I'm pretty sure Foxy and Ja rule have never been linked together in real life

We are smart enough to know this.
The general public - not so much.

So just don't feed them anything like that to begin with.

Oh see. I didn't know that. Was that mentioned in the 1st episode? It makes more sense to me now, to know that that context was given. I need to catch up.

yup! Ja Rule was dating Brianna (Eve) back in the day and Naomi and Jill were trying to refresh her memory about the time Brianna fucked him and his fancy car up for cheating with "Foxy"

They wanted her to remember that she used to be a bad bitch that didn't take no mess
