Mariah wouldn't do this either, and, she may not be "underrated", i just think LA Reid just could have articulated his thoughts better. Mariah's pen game definitely doesn't get the respect that it should from the general public the way many people gas up other Artists and male Artists in particular.

Definitely agree with her pen game being underrated. I also can see her doing a Verzuz she's a fun girl. I don't think she will take it that seriously.

I brought up the #1s because when I think of verzuz I think (Hit) for (Hit) but yes a hit record could just be a great song. Even still Beyoncé music just doesn't measure up IMO. She has made a career on putting out a lot of so-so/mediocre records because she's Uber popular. 

Mary would slay because of the audience that watches, but Mariah would get a lot of love for her work.

There's too much emphasis placed on #1's. Yes, it's usually a great indication of a hit but there are so many other factors that determine a hit. The average person doesn't know or care if a song went #1 or not..

That would not be iconic. I don't see that happening. Mariah peers are Janet and Mary Periodt. Beyoncé is too big to do this, I say that because they would automatically give her the win to satisfy her fanbase.  Beyoncé discography is very lopsided. As big as she is I'm shunned at how little number one records she has.

Love Aretha but she's not Beyoncé. Aretha is from a different era too, and I don't believe every record she had deserved to be #1. Beyoncé PR machine makes the general listener believe Everything she touches is a hit. Everything she puts out is iconic and it's not. I was just shocked that she's gotten this far with so many flops radio wise.

Well if that's what came across I apologize. I honestly agree with you; I just don't think Beyoncé has real hits after album 3, she coasted on so so records for awhile nothing truly phenomenal imo.  Of course she has occasional Mi gente's.

Take away Mariah's #1s I still think the public would jam to Mariah she has so many great songs lyrically, vocally etc.

And that's a problem imo, Agreed "Run the world" is a mess,  I did watch her lil press tour that era, And will admit she was killing those performances. But a good song is a good and that wasn't it.
